3rd Gen/Taco Drum Brakes
Are the drums used on the rear of 96-2000ish 4Runners and Taco's the same as on earlier 4wd 4Runners/Pickups(ie 12" Drum fitting in 15" rims)?
I'm looking to get an e-locker for my '86 Pickup, and to gain a little width while I'm at it(and just make it easier), I want to go with the whole rear axle. But need to make sure my brakes will "plug in".

I'm pretty sure that will work. I have seen quite a few mini's around here with Taco rears. You might have to tear down the drum brakes and swap wheel cylinders or something to make the taco's brake lines thread in(if they are different)
Should be pretty easy though.
Good luck!

Yes those drums will fit 15" wheels!! They are even the same size drums as a 1st. gen 4Runner. I'm using 1st gen drums on my 97, they are the same diameter and width!!
