wondering if anyone has any suggestions for lifting my 2000 toyota 4runner limited 4x4 auto trans.

i have been thinking about starting with the 3" body lift from 4crawler
price with shipping is roughly 456usd inc shipping w/ poly body mount set
but i am pretty sure that i might have to modify a short shirt system for my transfer case shifter and also modify shift lever length and shape

then 3 inch suspension lift from
sonoran steel
whcih comes with everything front and back for about 1425 usd inc shipping

anyone have any ideas price isnt really an issue just want to have a clean professional install

You're canada right? Because 460$ for a body lift is just plain insane.

Id stick with a 2" body lift. I have mine @ 2" and I couldn't imagine sticking 3" on there...

my buddy had a 2000 auto 4runner with 3'' revtek suspension lift and a 3'' body lift. he said it wouldnt clear 35's. So all he ran was 33". Are you goin for bigger tires or just want it hi in the sky. because my girlfriend has a 3" revtek susp. lift and clears 285x75x16 which is the metric equivilant to 33"x11"x16" im pretty sure. it just barely rubs the front bumper on full compression with the wheels cranked. but u can fix that with a lil trimming

well i really just want to get some decent 35's on my truck with out doing any serious fabrication. i would like to put the 35's on my stock rims if possible. the price that i gave for the body lift includes
full ENERGY poly body mount bushing set which is supposed to give a better ride and keep all the usual body lift creaking and squeaking from happening which costs 160usd
the kit also includes the poly lift blocks 76usd, heavy duty hardware 125usd, front bumper reloc brackets 15usd, rad reloc brackets 20usd, steering shaft ext.40usd and shipping 25usd

i also might have to buy a short shift kit for my t case which is 100usd

i'm pretty sure i can get some 35's on the stock rims that aren't wider than 12.5 inches and shouldn't rub just want to keep a fairly smooth ride with some good height. from what i hear if you do a 3" body lift right shouldnt have any problems i wont be doin any really serious off roading just occasional fun on the weekends. any info on how to get my truck big enough to fit 35's would be much appreciated. i'm pretty confident the sonoran steel 3"suspension with the 4crawler 3" body lift
will do just fine. to get 6 inches of lift for roughly 1900 usd before tires seems pretty good. check out sonoran steel.com and 4crawler fro more info

That's ridiculous, 125 for the hardware, that's 6 bolts for the cab and 8 for the bed plus the washers and nuts. Totally insane.

Buddies rig 2.5" lift no bl and 35's no rubbing tub'd firewall and some trimming.

i guess 125 for hardware is expensive but id rather buy everything from one place at one time so the install is as painless as possible

anyone have any better ideas to get my truck six inches higher for around the same money and quality... about 1900 USD before tires, rims, spacers etc.

i am also wondering what other sus and body lifts ppl suggest

3" Body lift is way too high. I would go 1" maximum, especially on a 3rd gen, and especially on something you want to take offroad.

Body lifts raise the center of gravity of the truck from the suspension attachment points. This translates into REALLY easy to roll over.

Go with a 3" suspension lift and run 33"ers. You may need to add a 1" BL. You may be able to get away with the stock gears. If you go 35"s you'll most problbly need to regear. You will be cutting and welding the body to run 35s even with 3+3.

i heard from a few places that a body lift only raises about 25% of the entire vehicle weight considering the frame etc stay where they are . it would obv be more unstable but this truck won't be doning any serious offroading just the odd weekend trail.

you sure 35's with some good offset rims will rub for driving around town?

I'll just mention this: I have 8" of lift right now, and even with that amount of lift, I had to trim for 35's...I still rub when offroading...And that means I need to trim more I guess (from the rear).

What I'm getting at is that the picture above with the guy running 2.5" suspension lift and 35's is very important here. I'm running 6" more lift and still needed to trim a good amount.

Im taking my 2" body lift and doing more trimming this week or two.

What the hell could you possibly rub on? Would rear limit straps help by reducing flex one way it would stop the up cycle on the opposite side (in theory). As for the front I can't help you but you would know better than I. I say scrap the drop bracket and go SAS

I've got 4" bumpstop extensions in the rear too. The tire just stuffs just enough to rub up on the rear fenders... The rear end flexes a ton!!! I think I need to modify my panhard bar, it might be throwing things a tad off and causing interference.

Nah I love my drop bracket lift. Its perfect for me doing moderate offroading and I couldn't ask for something better in Baja. ... maybe down the line, but by then I'll hopefully have my landcruiser to do more offroading my and my 4runner for Baja/Camping.

10-4 Believe me that rear is flexy, when I was detecting a noise I used the tallest jack stand I had plus 6x6 would blocks to get it off the tires off the ground 2". I'm considering limit straps for mine as rough trails seem to kill the inner coil air bags I use for weight distr.
