370cc RC's bought today! Let's cross our fingers!
I dropped some more cash today on the 370cc RC Engineering Fuel Injectors for my 1998 4Runner.
So, I'm going to adjust my SMT-6 on Wednesday, get the injectors in by Friday or Saturday, and install the following on Sunday: (it will be a big day to say the least)
1) 370cc injectors
2) Supercharger
3) 2-step colder spark plugs
4) Spark Plug wires
5) TRD Thermostat
Once all that's installed, I will light up the laptop and adjust the SMT-6 for the new equipment. It's going to be so much fun, and I can't wait to make it happen. I'll keep everyone posted!
Chris
P.S. Anyone want to help on the install? It's all going to be new to me!

Wow, looks like you're going to have a busy day. Good luck, wish I could help but I'm headed home this coming weekend. Make sure you take a bunch of pics. Have you got the SMT-6 running fine now?

I'm going to adjust it again Wednesday, and connect the O2 sensor wire and Coolant Temp Sensor wire, and everything should be great! Sunday, I'll begin to install everything!

Well, the thermo is installed, and everything seems to be running fine. I'll break out the adjustments on the SMT-6 tomorrow and see what happens. The injectors were mailed off today, so I should be ready to go on Sunday with the install.

Well, I've got great news for all those pursuing the purchase of an SMT-6. It works great! I've got the same setup as Galen (Dr. Z) right now, but I'm awaiting his updated maps after he evaluates his setup with the Road Dyno. I'm not sure if he's running high or low octane, but I'm running 87 octane with his exact settings with no pinging. The only thing I've change is the last column of the fuel map, from what he's got to 3 instead of negative numbers just to be safe. I feel a little more kick this way. More to come!

Today is the day! I'm going outside to start the install of the supercharger, injectors, spark plugs, sparks plug wires, and tranny cooler. Wish me luck!
By the way, last night I sprayed all the bolts with penetrant, so hopefully they'll come off a little easier.

Everything is installed, and now I've got to tune everything using the laptop on the SMT-6. We'll see what happens. I've got it to idle, but not great! I'[ve got a lot of tuning to do from here. If duffdog is reading this, I would love to see wat your fuel maps look like.

Well, everything is installed, but I'm running rich. I've got the analog map set at idle so low, that the check engine light comes on, because the output voltage is zero just to keep the fuel at a rate that it will idle.
Here's what I'm thinking! I really need to see what settings Duffdog's running to compare, but mine is running so rich, I can't see how to fix it. The only thing I can think of is to put a potentiometer on the MAF signal, and then hook up the SMT-6 to monitor the O2 sensor signal so I can further lean out the engine during closed loop. I have no idea what's going to happen at open loop, though.
Does Duffdog or Gadget have any comments??

uh well rich would be the key word here huh..... before i had the supra MAF installed with the 5" intake, i had to lean the injector pulse -25% on the SAFC. thats a hell of a lot of leaning out. After the supra maf install, i richened the mixture to -13% on the low throttle map and -10% on the high throttle map-- oh, and i just recently changed the throttle point settings to switch from lo to hi at 30% throttle instead of 60%, because when i was towing, it just so happened that i pinged just after 30% throttle. youll have to lean everything way out with your smt-6, just like i leaned everything out with my SAFC. ( you did disconnect the battery for a minute to reset the fuel map right? ) let me know how its goin...

Thanks Tim,
I'll try those settings immediately tomorrow morning. I didn't reset the ecu, which I totally forgot. Thanks for the advice. I should run the same setting as you from what I understand, right? I'll let you know!

I've got great news and not so great news! The great news is that it's running strong!!!!!!!! The bad news is that I've got a leaking injector on the passenger side! To be fixed soon! The power is awesome already. More details to come soon!
