3.4L Turbo Kits coming soon - PICS & SPECS!!
Hello,
SpeedFactory in Tacoma, Washington will be releasing a complete turbo kit for our 4Runners and Tacoma's with the 3.4L engines within the next two weeks. He used my 99 4Runner for the test vehicle for fitment and measurments and let me tell you, this kit is the real deal. It is built using all stainless steel, tig welded, mandrel bent piping. Included in the kit are the following:
TO4E Turbo (i don't have all the specs now - will find out)
All Charge Piping (powder coated)
3 inch Thick Front Mounted Air to Air Intercooler
Custom SS turbo manifold with laser cut flanges
Greddy Waste Gate and HKS Blow Off valve
Downpipe
Oil feed and return lines for turbo
Air Filter
All neccessary hoses, silicon tube connectors and clamps
Fueling is not included but URD's supercharger fuel kit or Turbo Port Fueler can be used.
I am currently running the URD S/C Fuel upgrade in my truck and will be using it to get some baseline dyno numbers. We will probably be running about 10lbs of boost initally and see how the afr's hold up. Eventually, I plan on upgrading my injectors to 370cc's or the URD Turbo Port Fueler.
SpeedFactory has not released the final price yet, but it will be in the same range as the TRD Supercharger + everything it takes to get it running properly.
Here are some pics of the Build! It is up and running but still needs to be road tuned and all the charge piping will be powder coated a cool gunmetal chrome color. Enjoy and let me know what you guys think!

The tune and powder coating will be done early this week and I should have it on the dyno thursday. I will post the dyno results when I get them! I will be using the dyno at Carb Connection in Kirkland, WA if you want to come check it out (DarylD) As soon as I schedule the time I will post it. Thanks!

Dude, that is tight! You should give Mark a call and let him know about this (if he doesn't know already). I bet he would love to attend that dyno session. Plus, I want to see a vid after you hit Carb Connection.
My wife and I will be up there in July. I would love to see your rig at some point.

Great! Yeah, Mark already knows about it. I will let you all know the time of the dyno session once I get it. Christian, just send me a PM or something when you come up and I'll let you take it for a test drive. It's going to be a BEAST!!!

Good question. I do not think the set-up I have is as it exteranally vents the blow off valve. I belive that SpeedFactory is planning on offering the kit with it recirculating it back through the exhaust for all of you in cali though. I will get a definitive anwser and let you know.

Doesn't make much sense because all you're venting is over-compressed air, right?

Just spoke to Speed Factory and turns out these will not be california certified. There are very strict guidelines that need to be followed and emission levels met. I am not all that versed in these restrictions though and I am not sure that means that it won't pass emissions there. I sure am glad that Washington dosen't have such srtict regulations!!
