You are looking at the circuit board for the tach.

This is after you disassemble the gage cluster and pull out the tach.
Soldering a 10k ohm resistor will be cake as far as mods go.

sorry it took a bit of looking. kinda new to the posting pics thing. the one pic should be an after shot. I put in all the info he gave me with the e-mail and pics. I hope it helps out 91runner with his problem.
one question 91runner, how has your wiring harness experience going with ors? just curious as I will be needing to deal with them soon. did you have to send them anything and what did you end up buying from them?

No I havent gotten the tach working yet, I havent had time to tear the dash apart.

I did not have to send anything to ORS to get the adapter harness but it took them awhile to finally get all of the parts to put it together, about 3 months if I remember right.

thanks for the update 914runner. I talked with the guy who sent me the pics of the tach. his is working great and the swap has over 3000 trouble free miles. he said he hasn't fixed the oil sender or gauge yet.
I wonder why it takes them so long to make the adaptor.

It took them so long because they had to sorce the parts to make the harness. once they got all of the parts in, it only took them about a week to make the harness. If you got the plugs from a wrecking yard and then sent them to him I bet you would have your harness in 2 weeks or less.

The 3.4L oil pressure sensor sends a different voltage to the gauge and fries the gauge. To fix this you have to swap in the 3.0L oil pressure sensor before you run the rig. I didnt know about this before I started driving my rig and I fried my gauge.

okay so I don't mean to be a pain 914runner, but I got a few questions. so did they make the whole engine harness for you plus the adaptor? what did you get for a engine package? I am just kinda worried about getting all the stuff I need. trying to find 1 doner is kinda hard and when I do find them, they are usually part of a dealer only auction. thanks in advance.

No he did not make the engine harness, he just made the adapter harness to adapt the engine harness to the body harness and the body harness to the ECU.

We got our motor from a late model Toyota wrecker in Colorado that Mike @ ORS recommended to us. It is called "Central Foreign Auto Supply" They can source complete units.

thanks 914runner. I just wasn't sure how it worked with them.
lbb-1 I am not sure what else you need to know for this mod. if you take the cluster out, it should all make perfect sense with the pics. the only other suggestion I can offer is the same one I made at the start. get a line out to CO93runner on 4x4wire. he is more than willing to help out fellow yotas.
