Well that explains why this engine needs dual-electrode spark plugs. Doesn't explain why everyone else would not use them too, if they work as described.

Nice find, I saved a copy.

Seems a little funny in a few spots though...did they say better fuel economy? Ha, it's a very thirsty engine for the HP. The ignitor coil description reads along the lines of "...allowing it to be light weight and compact...", no matter how much I like these engines I can't help but read that as "...allowing it to be made cheaply..." - makes be want to replace the whole setup after seeing the driver's side plugs on way-too-many of these engines...

It says so, but that's not the number on the pump. It says 91 RON - meaning Research Octane Number. The number on the pump is an average of RON and MON (Motor Octane Number) - if you look at the fine print it'll usually say "(RON+MON)/2". The MON is usually 8 or 10 points lower than the RON, bringing the average down. So the "regular" gas at 87 or 88 octane actually has a RON about 4 to 5 points higher than 87 or 88.

Hope I'm clear, but read this if you want http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octane_rating

quote: "3.4–liter, 24–valve DOHC engine based on the acclaimed 3VZ–E engine."

Very interesting, thanks. So if I read right from that chart 91-92 RON = 87 at the US pump.

I came across this link the other day when someone asked about the two capped brass connector thingies on the 5VZFE throttle body and what they're for. Awesome link!

So, does anyone know? I bet a tech at a dealership would know (but they might be a bit busy right now).

Hey need a tech question answered. So the black vacuum box with the power steering line and some other line going to it I'm guessing the idler line. I redid my intake and diconected those lines from the box and put breather filters on them. They're drawing air from the intake anyways. There's no harm in this correct? Ps. It makes a cool
Sucking sound now when I turn.
