Well, as of last night I am the proud owner of a 2002 Tacoma Double Cab V6 PreRunner. Woot! Needless to say, I will be modifying this vehicle to within an inch of its life over the next few months (4x4 + manual trans conversion; supercharger + fuel system mods, etc.). Let the games begin

I know header installation is a HUGE PITA on this truck and most of the benefits come in conjunction with a supercharger, but that's in my plans, and I figure I will do the headers and the manual trans conversion at the same time which should make it easier.

With those mods in mind, what's my best option for CA smog legal headers for a 2002 3.4 V6 Tacoma? I remember reading some posts that praised the TRD headers, but they are 1) expensive and 2) apparently discontinued, so their availability is spotty. Who currently makes the best smog-legal 3.4 headers? Or are the TRD headers so good that they are worth the extra money?

I think Doug Thorley Headers is still producing one, pn THY-507-C (ceramic coated) The TRD part was discontinued, so hit and miss on finding a set.

BTW, contact them directly about the CA emmissions part. If I remember right they were CA compliant, but it does not state that on their website that I can see.
