Question 3.0----->3.4 conversion, need help FAST!
I have a '94 4Runner with the 3.0 v6. The head gaskets let go in late September and it hasn't moved since. I have the oppourtunity to get a '95 3.4 v6, ECU, and tranny for dirt cheap. I've done a little reasearch on the subject, but I need to know what else I need to have to complete the conversion, and I need to know A.S.A.P. If anyone could help me, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance.

did they make any trucks with the 3.4 in 95?

maybe the motor was made in 95.... i dont know

I believe that the 3.4 first came out in 95.

i know for a fact that the 3.4 didnt come out in the 4runners until 96. maybe it came from a tacoma or like i said.. it was built in 95 and put into a 96 truck

You are correct, just checked the Chilton's. Then I assume it is a '96. Still need the extra info.

technically 95 1/2 was the first year for the 3.4 but most just refer to it as 95

and this outta help out a little

The first 5vzfe's came out in 95.5 on the Tacomas, 4runners didn't have them until 96.

The swap is very doable.....the wiring harness should be bought from www.offroadsolutions.com

Crap! So it is only a direct bolt in (mainly) for a manual tranny? That sucks.

Not true.....autos will usually bolt up fine, shifting is a problem tho.
Manual tranny make sure you will not have this problem.

I will have the ECM, and the tranny. Will these bolt up to my existing TXcase?

If you have an auto, the t-case and tranny are not separable.

If you have a 5spd, an adaptor can put the chain drive behind the new tranny or a gear drive or two or three.

Read the ORS page.

If you need these kind of questions answered fast, I think you need to do some more reading.
