2nd gen deckplate mod?

Hello,

I know there is alot of talk on the the board about deckplate mods being the way to go. It seems great, but has anyone does this for a 2nd gen? If so is there a right up? I would really like to do one, but I am not totally sure if I could do it just from looking at 3rd gen pics.

Thanks,
Joe

You could cut the bottom off the airbox and get tons more air but then you'd really risk sucking water into the engine. The popular mod for the 2nd gen is a snorkel that goes inside the fender and draws air very high inside the fender - a few inches higher than the stock intake tract. Better yet - go Lee's route and get a Safari Snorkel.

Mines been out forever, but I could have sworn it was rectangular. Doesn't matter anyway, there aren't any suitable locations to install the deckplate on the threepointslow's airbox.
