2nd and 3rd Gen Bumpers We NEED THEM!
Perhaps we can get enough people together to get ARB to build a rear bumper for 2nd and 3rd generation 4Runners. I would like to get as many people together as possible and send a formal request to see if they can get one built for us. Mind you, it doesn’t necessarily have to be ARB. Any company that can do it will be considered and all suggestions will be accepted. So what I need from you guys is a yes or no on whether or not you would buy one.
Here are some examples of what they should look like from people who have built their own and companies making similar bumpers for other Toyotas.
From a fellow Yotatechy. Check out Bruce’s development. Perhaps he can be our fabricator.
Let us know of any further developments Bruce!

I would be interested in one. I would love to get the spare out back, then develop a secondary gas tank that will fit in the stock spare location (with HD skid plates)... If the price with hinge and mount for the spare could be done for less than say $750, then I'd be all over it...

And soon mine will be added to the growing list of custom bumpers.....
The bumper is still very rough, but after a bit of rounding of the corners and a few other surprises, it'll be trail ready! I opted to use the stock plastic back piece, since to me it looked the cleanest. As for departure angle, it doesn't have as much as others, but with my lift it has more than enough. I will keep posting updates in the fab forum under ravencer's post on 3rd gen bumpers.

I think I saw a nice looking one in a copy of austrailian 4wheeldrive monthly. Its a TJM jobbie that looks kind of nifty.
Something else to check out guys is the Maggiolina roof top tent cabin it's a hard top tent traler type thing that sits on the roof of the truck. collapsed its about the size of one of those aerodynamic cargo things. the web sites are WWW.zifer.com and / or WWW. chariot.net.au (both for the tent thing).

Steve's got 3rd gen's covered, they're tested on some of the hardest trails in the SW (with sheet metal), they come from a reliable source and they're inexpensive too
When / if I can afford one I will go with this.
