the plug end sitting on the throttle body and the other similar one just to the right a bit. i believe that the second one has never had a home but the first one does and i don't know where it is. no a/c in my truck if that matters...

I dunno, i have those on my truck too. Maybe they accidently forgot it was a 4 and put 6 injector connecters. Your guess is as good as mine.

hmmm, the black one has always been loose, but i never noticed the white one until recently. plus it's not wrapped together like the black one is.

My truck has power brakes, power steering and A/C. No cruise or any other options. Here is the top of my engine. You can see the white connector in the circled area. I'll look tomorrow (Wednesday) for the dark connector.

Likely one is for the A/C idle-up VSV, it is a whiteish 2-pin connector on my '85:

I think i used that white one when swapping my engine and I have no ac. Check near the coil to see if it stretches that wayor goes in anywhere around there. For some reason I have that going all the way across my engine bay and ontop of the engine and stuff. Bad placement

Based on the color and location of the connectors, Roger is right. The white one goes to the A/C idle-up VSV (#4), which has a vacuum line running to (#5), highlighted with the yellow line. Numbers 1, 2 and 3 all go into the same harness, and #4 joins the harness further down the line.



I'm guessing your truck had A/C at one time, thus the extra white connector. I can't figure out where the dark connector goes, as my truck has A/C, PS and PB, and my brother's '89 4Runner has A/C, PB, and Cruise. I don't see the dark connector on either truck. Where does the opposite end of the connector tie into the harness?

Roger, I think I screwed that one up. Which one is the A/C idle-up VSV, #4 or #5? What is the other one called? I knew what it's called, but I can't think of the name right now. I guess that happens when you're approaching 40. Brain fart...

Jovis / Roger anyone that might know.
In your pic there is a fitting on the back of the intake plenum, the last fitting on the right (towards the firewall). The one that is 2 fittings back from #1(cold start injector, in your pic). What is this fitting and what does it do? I broke off the black plastic cap/filter/vent (you can see it on top by the EGR)
and need to know if this is contibuting to my rough idle. Thanks

On my '85, the rear fitting is a 3-port, one hooks to the factory cruise control, one is plugged (I used that for my vacuum gauge) and the 3rd port feeds the fuel pressure regulator, via a VSV (they I removed - vac line direct to the FPR).



The purpose of the FPR line is to lower fuel pressure at idle and w/o the connection, the fuel pressure is too high at idle and you will get a rough idle because of that.
