2005 Tacoma Rollout Date Announced

October 18th. Dealers will have them in stock before then, but aren't supposed to sell them yet. They'll be available for test drives, though.

Sweet, something to look forward to! Definitely want to test drive, but might wait a year to see how the bugs shake out like they did with the 2003 4Runner.

Ok its marked on my calender, I have gotta test drive that thing.

I'll bet the dealer markup is going to be pretty steep when they first hit the showrooms. When the redesigned hit the show rooms in 02, one local dealer had a $2,000 ADM charge on it. My dad asked what an ADM was, and the salesman said "additional dealer markup", he walked out and bought a ES300 for almost the same price that day.

Shows some more x-runners and another colored D-Cab.

Well, the day that they arrive in Bozeman, I'm going for a test drive. So, I already know that I won't be getting one because I'm incredibly happy with my new truck, but who can turn down a test drive on a new Tacoma? I mean, look at the HP ratings, it's bigger, faster, 6 speed tranny!!!! Damn, maybe I shouldn't take a test drive.

the blue color does look nice. I beleive they dont have the blue color on the current tacos. The only blue tacos i've seen are probably the 99' models.

I'm definitely test driving the xrunner and the dcab. Just for fun of course.

It was announced at the Chicago show last February that the TRD S/C for the V-6 will be available, but didn't give a date when. They estimated at least 300 hp! And that's before Gadget goes to work on it!

Yeah well when I walk in there and drop my Deposit on one, there better not be a single mile on it when I get it. Now freaking test drives in my new toy.

BTW...I hate my 2004 Nissan Frontier XE, it's a horrible ride, a rough truck. It squeaks constanly and something breaks on it once a month!!

me no likey tiny roots superchargers that have heat soaking problems and 50+hp of parasitic lag... Though I have a HUGE respect and admiration for Gadgets ability to make his 3rd gen RUN. In fact I'll probably need his help on the dyno tuning side of my next truck.

Im going the intercooled, turboed route, with a loose exhaust post turbo...with 275 tq on on a 3000lb rwd truck, turbo lag is a GOOD thing for traction's sake....

So I just called the dealer and I told my salesman about the October 18th date I heard. He said that sounded about right. He also said that they just started getting books and pamplets on the 2005 Tacomas, so there is hope! I asked him about getting them on the lot prior to the 18th, but not being able to sell them. He of course beat around the bush about it.

He did say, "Now Toyota has told us that it maybe another couple of months before the X-Runner is available."

To which I replied, "How do I go about ordering one through you?" He replied, "Oh, $1,000 down, when they become avialable." LOL

At any rate...Does anyone know a good Toyota Dealer to deal with in NC, SC, GA? I'm not impressed with Gene Reed Toyota or West Ashley Toyota. I've always felt their prices were very high. In fact, I'm willing to drive a very long way to pick up one of these trucks!

When my wife lived in NC, she had good luck with Toyota of Concord.

Drive a little further to buy out of the Southeast Toyota Distributor market area, say a major metro area in Virginia. If you buy within the SET area, it's likely that you'll be forced to take things like their ToyoGuard package (~$750), different wheels, aftermarket leather, and whatever else they can throw on at the port. Given the limited build of X-Runner, the average dealer will only be getting three for the entire '05 MY = license to steal. For the best possible deal, call a dealer in Montana during January and have it shipped to your door.
