2002 waag for a 97?

i have a waag grille guard, and i was wondering it it would fit a 1997 4runner. i know the bumpers are different, but say the 97 runner had the 99+ front bumper. are the bottom mounting points the same? i'm guessing yes, but thought it best to check.

Just my opinion, but...

you really sould keep your political affiliations to yourself if you really want people to take you seriously. That stuff is fine on other sites, but not on here.

Thanks.

Oh, by the way, I have a manik, but I'm out of town and can't get you any pics. Sorry.

yes, thank you bob for speaking up. glad i'm not the only one. look, i thought that avatar would make people think. and i'm glad it did, that's the point. i must say i am pretty liberal, and while i don't agree with everything that means, or on punkvoter.com, that's where I stand. I understand people have different views, and I respect that. seems a little ad hominemish and weak to discount what i say on this toyota trucks forum based on my political beliefs, but whatever. i'm not gonna get into a big deal on this, you can start a new thread for that. but at this point if i kept up the same avatar, it'd be kind of a "ha, i'm still gonna keep it up, so there!" message. i'm not here to piss people off. so, i shall in a little bit change it to another. maybe then i can be taken seriously

back to the thread topic...

i have a potential buyer for my 02 grille guard, i just want to make sure it'll fit his 97. is a 97 front end the same as my 02 as long as it has the newer style bumper?

this is off topic, but so be it...

i think calrockx has the right to have whatever he wants as his avatar. just because it doesnt convey a right-winged republican view doesnt mean its wrong. just different.

i think it may be clear on where i stand, but that shouldnt be a reason to judge someone just because of how they feel about certain topics. this forum has always been open to different ideals and points of view and i think it should continue to be that way.

dont take what i say the wrong way, its all good

I was going to purchase a 99-02 grill guard for my 96-98 4Runner but forum members stated that it would not fit because of the mounting points, bumper and it would have stuck out a good 8-10in.

<Hijack-ON>

All I was saying is that if I wanted to see what he thought of Bush, then I'd visit punkvoter or whatever the hell other site that bashes him. However, my point is that this is a TOYOTA forum and not a forum for political statements.

Notice that I recommended that he not do that FOR HIS OWN BENEFIT and for the benefit of the forum. I also offered that AS MY OPINION.

Is that opressive? Don't think so. Does it keep the forum on track by eliminating stuff like that stirs things up? Definitely. Do I think he's entitled to his opinion. You're damned right and I'd be willing to make the ultimate sacrifice in order for him to keep that right. That's what makes this country so incredible.

That's how I feel about the situation. Take it how you want.

<Hijack-OFF>

Dude, good luck finding the specific guard on the specific truck (crossmatched by year). The brackets should be the same. The difference is the shape of the cutout that snugs up to the front of the bumper. By the way, that is one SWEET-LOOKING '02!
