2000 4Runner Clutch issue????
Hi all,
I think my clutch is beginning to act up on me.
I first noticed it a few weeks ago.. i was driving and I think I felt my clutch slip. I was in 4th gear, i pressed on the gas pedal the engine revved up w/o feeling any traction... after a second or two the rev needle came back down and I felt the wheels engage in traction.
Lately, I've now began to feel these symptoms in other gears.
Other than that I have no other symptoms.
Does my clutch need replacing???
Any other parts I should checking??
Thxs,

I also did throwout and pilot bearings, slave cylinder, rear main seal and starter contacts while I had it all apart.

I live in NYC.... there aren't that many hills here and I've been driving in dry roads.... I had my truck since 2005 and only very recently I started noticing symptoms of clutch slippage.
I don't really floor my gas pedal when I drive... since I don't need to in my city...
Will the slippage be more noticeable if I floor it????
Next time it happens I'll get out of the car and see if can smell anything...
What parts should be looking to replace for my clutch????
Like I said before my truck has 100,XXX miles on it and I haven't done any clutch work since 60,000 miles when I bought it.
thanks is advance,
maguirre

I used this (Aisin is OEM for these parts):
Also, you need to turn or replace the flywheel.
Yes, flooring in a higher gear than normal for the situation will tend to provoke a slip.
