2 dr 2nd gen 4Runner for sale

Hey all,
I saw this while I was looking around on autotrader. It's a 2dr 2nd gen 4Runner. Pretty rare truck. Only seen like 2 in my life.

http://www.autotrader.com/findacar/v...r=&cardist=358

Well, thought I'd post that for anybody interested.

Have fun all.

what's the difference between a 2 door and 4 door besides the number of doors? is the wheelbase the same?

Don't like the 2 door. Seen a couple of them here. They just look wrong!

They are mechanically identical. The U.S. had a tariff on foreign 2 door SUV's so there was no financial incentive to buy a 2 door. Very few of them got imported and eventually all the foreign manufacturers stopped importing their 2 door SUVs.

To get around the tariff most foreign manufacturers are building their pickup trucks here so that they qualify as domestic.

Thats a '91 Runner and it has 3rd generation wheels on it. I agree, 4 doors look a lot better but it's not too bad, I think its just the window where the rear doors are suposed to be thats makes it suck.

Specs

Whoever put that page together has wrong facts.
They say the removable roof stayed until '91.
Don't think so

There are a few 2 door owners on the forum here.
I have seen a few locally, they are rare, and I like the design.

I would have preferred a 2 door 2nd gen over my 4 door. I think they look badass, and you hardly ever get to see one.

For some reason the 2 door 2nd gen looks like a bit shorter than the 4 door.

I've seen only a couple driving around, they sure do look cool. I thought of buying one at one time but couldn't find one for sale.
