2.7L header/cat/catback suggestions requested

can anyone/everyone give me their experience with the subject exhaust modifications in general, and even in specific (ie, brand names, model or part#s too).

i am looking for a few more ponies for towing grades and highway passing. and hoping to even gain some mpgs in most other situations (mellow driver i am).

however i am not looking to make my truck overly obnoxious sounding (respectfully submitted).

many tanks in advance-

Check out these

http://www.lcengineering.com/HeadersExhaust.htm

http://toyotaperformance.com/headers_%26_exhaust.htm

http://www.northwestoffroad.com/parts/headers.html

Do a search both here and on google or such.

Good luck and welcome.

Don't know if you found it already.

seen it, thnx steve. very inspiring. dig your trucks too, esp the cruiser.

been all over the web fairly well. i was hoping to pick up some tips here from individuals that have different experiences than the pop web hits. have so far boiled it down to

a) LEC header/LCE hiflow cat/JBA catback (similar to 4x4wire link above with modern equivalents)

b) go with the local muffler guys rec for Doug Thorly products all the way. he (muffler guy) came highly recommended, and the Thorly products on the web look sick. for option b i need patience (end of summer for header) and trust (only mufler guy seems top have an opinion about Thorly).

any other giver? muchas gracias-

the LCE headers are a great unit, ive had them for almost a year now and the best part about them is the increased gas mileage. personally i wouldnt waste my time with and entire cat-back system. just get a high flow muffler (i have a dynomax) and even if u want you can get a hi-flow cat, but since u have a taco, its not necessary. on my 4runner, there is no flange from the collector to the cat.
