Take it easy on that tranny, if i were you, the VB would be the first thing done (before the S/C).. cause the VB is what, 700, a new tranny will cost you a couple grand.

In the other thread, I laid out for him how I'm on my 2nd tranny already, which is already slipping, and I FINALLY got the VB work done. I got it back from IPT last week.

heh... Maybe. But I've known it to be an issue for years. I preach hard on here about it in EVERY SC thread I come across. I've also openly stated for the eons I've been here that I don't practice what I preach, and "dood, LISTEN TO ME!" - I'm a poster child for what can happen when you don't do what "we" say.
Have you seen my rebuild thread, with the cool pic of the burned valve?

And QSV good luck with the truck... i cant wait to drop a 3.4 in my truck to so i can charge it... luckily mine's a stick tho...
And what do you mean by babysit the truck? Do you another car for DD? If you do, i'd say do it yourself, work slowly, you can get it done.

You can pay now for the VB upgrade or pay a lot more later for a new tranny or take off that SC until you can pay. I remember Gadget saying it only takes one full throttle shift to blow through 2nd gear and that was with a stock pulley.

Yeah maybe the other 1 out of 10 fail from blowing through clutch packs by applying excessive torque with slow cushy shifting of the stock VB. At least keep a close eye on the boost gauge and try not to go into boost as much as possible or maybe look into sticking the by-pass valve open so you don't make any boost.

Didn't Gadget say something to those lines also in regard to the heat generated, and therefore the urgency in obtaining a trans cooler? Something about 9 out of 10 trannys fail due to excessive heat? Even with his torque converter upgrade, (generated gobbles of heat), the Hayden was able to get temps down to stock levels... which I am hoping is sufficient enough for the supercharger and stock converter.
