1st Gen Supercharger Question

I have a 99 4Runner with a first gen. (Grey) supercharger, I removed the supercharger so it could be rebuilt. In the process I downloaded the instuction manual for the second gen. (Black) supercharger. I know it's different but I figured it would be handy for bolt locations, etc. In the second gen. instructions they talk about a one way valve that should be installed in the vacumn line at the bottom of the throttle body. My truck does not have this valve, and never has.

So, did the first gen superchargers ever have this valve installed? Was there ever a TSB issued for installing this valve later on?

Has anyone with a first gen supercharger installed one?

I bought the valve and have it here (it was cheap and I figured it was worth having it if I needed it). I just don't know if it should or should not be installed. Thanks for the help!

If thats not what you're describing, sorry! Pictures can help.

Sorry, I wasn't very specific. It's the one way valve that connects to the IAC of the throttle body. It just slips in the vacumn line.

So I did some searching and found the old directions for the 1st gen supercharger.

It looks like I have the super old version, I have the pre-cut TRD timing belt cover and the extra fuel pressure regulator.

Good to see people are still using that manual i uploaded.

In answer to your question about the valve, you want that in place, otherwise it will cause a boost leak.

Well Thanks!

Yeah, I decieded to install it. I think my supercharger was installed before that was part of the kit (I'm guessing when the 4Runner was new). I searched on TTORA and found a couple posts about people having issues when not using it.
