1st Gen 4Runner Help
My driver side vent glass was broken the other day by someone with a rock, talk about holiday spirit! I need some help on changing the glass out.
Toyota sells the single panes of glass but my problem is I can't seem to find out how to get the frame out to put the glass in. I have an illustration from Toyota that shows several bolts folding the frame on from inside of the cabin, but those bolts are no where to be found. The only bolts that i have access to are the ones for the top.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Are you talking about the small triangle just infront of the main window on the door? Mine has a couple screws that hold the glass in place, isn't that all you'd have to take out to replace the glass? Maybe runners are different that the pickups

glass
OK, now that i know which glass it is. i pulled the glass out of an extra top that i had and this is how you do it. First you have to remove your inside trim then using a sharp scraper you have to cut the seal(butyl tape according to the yota manual) and then push and pry the entire window assembley out. Then you will gain access to the screws that hold the window molding and the center frame. If you dont have an original yota manual and not familiar with glass installation i'd take it and have it done because it's alot like a front windshield where you have to replace the seal to stick it back in the top! Hope this helps!
