1998 3.4L 4x4 Clutch

Hey guys,

It's about that time...clutch is starting to get old and I want to replace it. I mostly use the 4runner for commuting, occasional tow, and some light off-road fun. I'd really like to find a clutch that isn't much heavier (if at all) than stock but maybe had a little bit more grabbing power. Any recommendations?

Every one that I have ever asked said that the best clutch is the original one. However Exedy makes execellent racing clutches in the form of stage 1,2 and 3. If they make one for the 3.4L, a stage 1 would most likely offer a stock feel with a little more torque compacity.

I just got mine done, OEM clutch. Had 125K on the old one and a preasure plate that was a little ...ummm...out of shape? The OEM one grabs fine. I have a heavy foot and tend to race the little chainsaw sounding cars here. Not problems yet.

I had to replace mine in my '99 Tacoma with the 3.4L and I replaced the old one with a Luk and it has worked out great so far (about 20K put on it)
