1996 flatbed conversion aftermarket lighting issue
Hello,
My fiancee just inherited a '96 Tacoma Extracab 4x4 after her father's passing. He converted it into a flatbed a few years back and installed Bargman aftermarket tail lights. When driving down the road, the signals operate as normal, but when you hit the brakes, the signals flash very rapidly. I've been ripping my hair out trying to fix this issue! This is my first Toyota, and here is what I've figured out so far. It obviously came from the factory with the three stage lights (red for tail and brake lights, amber for signals, and clear for reverse. It now has a combination red tail, signal, and brake, with a clear reverse light. It also has a Hoppy tail light converter near the hitch. I've been all over this truck with my meter and cannot for the life of me figure out how to fix this! Does it need a different flasher under the dash? Maybe LEDs for the front (to lower the voltage due to the conversion)? Maybe a different converter? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Update: so I hooked up an extra socket to the front driver side turn signal. It made it function properly... So, does anyone know what I can use to connect to the front turn signals to mimic having two bulbs without actually having two bulbs??
