15" or 16" wheels? 32's or 33's?

I have a 99 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 that comes stock with 15" wheels. Any of you see any reason that would justify stepping up to 16" wheels/tires? The wheel I have decided on (american racing baja) are virtually the same price for 15's and 16's. A few of the tires I am considering seem to be roughly the same price (16's tend to be just a tad more $)

Also, I still havent completely decided between 32's or 33's. I have the 2.7, stock gears, with 265/75/15 (is this a 31"?) and i am more than happy with the amount of power/speed i get out of this truck. will going to a 33" without doing gears hurt me to where I will regret it?

What about some of the narrower 33's out there? there are some 33x11.50's and whatnot available, as oposed to the common 33x12.5

What is your take on this?

personally i would stay with 15" wheels/tires. on some 33x12.50x15's I have found almost a $50.00 difference between those and 285/75/16's. 2.7 with 32's or 33's won't be that bad. It'll effect the mileage a little bit. It it were me, I'd through some 33x12.50's on.

I'd definitely stick with 15" wheels, looks a lot better to me. I dunno how much you can put under a taco with a little to no lift, since it has 30.6x10.4 on it right now, 32x11.5x15's prollly woudn't rub too much? although I like the way single cab tacos look with 33's and a few inches of lift..

Stay with 15's and buy my 32x11.50x15 Bridgestone Dueler MT's (75-80% tread) for $300 plus shipping.

Talking

as the others said, stick with the 15" wheels and go with the 32s. with no lift and 33s you'll rub for sure. also, putting on 33s without regearing will drop you to about 12 or 13 mpg, and you'll lose some power.

it seems the pro comp MT 32x11.50's are only 31.40 inches tall? lists the 33x12.50's as 32.50 inches tall. the 265's that are on it currently should be about 31 inches, no?

265/75/15=about 30.6"

265/75/16=about 31.7"
