11k Uoa 1997 3.4

Heres the test i got back on the 4runner i bought in January. It had 196k on it when i got it ans swapped over to Amsoil 5-30XL a 7500 mile oil. I do not know what the PO ran in it. It has 207k on it now. I put 11k on this oil before i changed it. For the XL oil and the first time it was tested it looks pretty good.Thats also with a Amsoil filter. Should help prove 3k oil changes should be a thing of the past.

this doesn't mean anything by itself

at all

unless you have at least 5 of them at the same intervals to compare readings and wear between changes

Uh, it means alot i have no water in the oil ,no fuel in oil and virtually zero engine wear and the Pb is a little high. I will do tests in the future 5 is no magic number the more the better. If its not changing no need to keep doing it at the same intervals, do them like a pop quize from time to time. By time i do 5 tests i will have put about 70k on my 4runner that will be close to 300k all with about 4-5 oil changes.

i dont care what charts and such say, oil should be changed NO later than 5000, with dino, no later than 3000. also i dont trust amsoil due to it not being an approved oil. call me old fashioned, but thats how i have almost 300,000 miles on my truck on dino oil... oil change every 2500-3000 miles. if it works for you, awesome.

OOps should be pb(lead) hit the wrong letter. Its prolly from using regular gasoline since gas is so high.

Not sure but on bob is the oil guy it says regular gasoline can cause high readings. Or it could be bearing wear, I guess ill have to wait for the next test time and see what i get. I didnt run the flush thru it and i used the 5-30XL, i am on 5-30 ASLQT now.So i guess im waitng on test time.
