I noticed my gas mileage is not as it should be and the other day my Cel cam on. I took it to advance and forgot to write down the code but the kid printed out the part sheet associated with it. Which recommended as follows.
Bosch
oxygen sensor OE typed
Part #13104
type Heated
Upstream/Downstream
price 108.99

Then while at the local firestone for a nail patch I asked they double check it. They wanted $250 and said it was the B1S1 second malfunction. According to him because it said second malf. that meant sensor and not the exhaust leak etc failure.

Am I correct in assuming this part and this guide will get me squared away? From what I can tell B1S1 is the sensor before the catalytic converter.Also is there a member here that sells these I'd like to support the community (gadget) is it? Most of the threads are pretty old on this subject.

If you do go with a O2 sensor. I get mine from sparkplugs.com, best prices I have found and have had really great luck with them. You said Upstream/downstream. On a Claifornia 22re emissions truck, it usually means infront and behind the catalytic converter.

My 91 is a California truck and what the big name parts store wanted for one, I got 2 for the same price.

I havent looked up the code, so am going with what you mentioned.

I was just curious, for a Cali truck both sensors run around $150 for both. Denso, didnt check NGK.

You are right. I am more comfortable in the 22re world. My 01 4runner has one upstream and down stream. I got Densos from that website. I didnt know about that other site, you can definetly do better in price then what Firestone quoted.

Alot of times they are so burned in there, I just go to a muffler shop and they will just put in a new bung for about $25 around here.

I loved the 22r world did you see my 1980 4x4 20R with original working ac I sold (93,000) original miles? Gas mileage was ridiculous.

Did you have a build thread on it? I just talked to a guy today with an 85 he bought new, AC still worked and never been worked on. Amazing. I think I am to pick up an 83 frame with axles and tranny and an 82 cab for my next project. I wont touch til I am through with my current one. I am really looking forwrd to it.

Go to the denso web site and look up your part numbers. then do a search on ebay for the exact part number. I just bought a denso downstream 02 sensor a few days ago on ebay for $45 with shipping included. That's the cheapest I found.

I cant say enough good things about OEM parts I have found on ebay lately for cheap. I bought an Aisin water pump for 66.00 including shipping. That was the best price by far that I could find.

On the Denso 02 sensor I needed, I saw several for around 70 bucks but didnt want to spend 70 bucks right now. I decided to do another search for that part number and found the Denso for 45 bucks. I pulled the trigger then!

Just to be sure you should crawl under and see how many cats you have. Two cats = CA spec and one cat = not CA spec. Here's the page with the actual listing of Denso part numbers. I got mine from Amazon because they were the cheapest at the time, but their prices fluctuate often.

oem denso exact part match or parish, I have had to actually repair burned components in ecm because of not using denso exact oem parts, its all about the electrical qualities of the sensor, heater resistance, and lambda cell curves, if all is not matching the lookup table in the computer your screwed, if the heater is wrong it pops the ecu and generated a persistent code that will not be cleared by changing the sensor but replacing or repairing the ecm search my threads for more detail..............
