Post 02 4runner rear supsension question

Brand newbie here. 02 4Runner 2WD used mostly on the road except for camping trips. Needed lift for tire clearance so I had a Daystar 2 1/2" lift and Explorer Pro Comp shocks installed (stock springs). When I hit a bump the rear end makes a clunk sound that can be heard throughout the vehicle. Even small bumps and pot holes are loud. Reminds me of my grandpa's old truck. Is this to be expected? Anything that I should have checked? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

My best guess would be the top mounts on the shocks aren't tight enough and the bushing is moving.

Hope this helps.

Thanks. I'll check that out. My local Toy dealership was lots of help when they advised that I check the spare tire (which I had already eliminated as the culprate).
