Youre welcome. I wanna try to keep my threads active. at least for my own sake for looking back and documenting my builds.
Congrats on all that you've accomplished, it's got to be a great feeling to be reaping the rewards of all your hard work and effort you've put in over the last 2yrs!
Nice updates on your 4runner too! I did the same thing on my rear suspension. I like how you did your front shock mount as well turned out really good, I might have to follow your lead and borrow that idea!

Dude that would be a lot of fun man. You wont be the first person to come meet up with us for a trip. First Andrew here on yotatech came down from canada. And countless amounts of people off of Instagram most of them are more local to us or on the drive to big bear so we usually meet up with people up there. We'll make a a fun weekend out of it. I just gotta start working again so i can join in on the trip.

I was looking for a thread on rear fender repair and came across yours. Your truck looks amazing! rustED was right, the charcoal looks great with the black, and your rims are good as well. I found it super useful your repair on the carpet in your truck. Thanks for the great idea!

Howdy, richard!
Hey Richard,
I didn't know you moved to Australia! Trade in the Runner for a 70-series diesel?
Merry Christmas!

Hey, any need for a special transfer case when doing a 3.4L swap and also to manual from auto? Also went to SAS from an 85 truck. I heard rumors about this but looking into this now. I'm looking at an R151 Trans and case. Wanna make sure it mounts up correctly to the front axle.
Thanks guys

My truck is an 89 4Runner btw. I forgot to add that in.
The 3.slow and auto Trans is already pulled. I'm now working on collecting parts and moving things around for the swap.

Been a while since i posted on this thread been so busy with the holidays and my trailer build thread ive almost abandoned this one haha. Here is a pic from my birthday weekend last month from Dec 11- Dec 13 at Big Bear Ca. We had a blast snow boarding at Snow Summit at staying at this small warm cottage for the weekend. Although there wasn't any off-roading or rock crawling it was still fun trying to drive in the streets without chains and just having 4x4 and lockers for the first time lol

Wow i cant believe i missed all these comments. i usually get an update!
Thanks alot for the compliments. Im happy my thread has helped you out in fixing your rig. The carpet was a pretty cheap and simple fix, i thought. beats paying over a hundred bucks for a factory carpet considering its gonna get filthy again lol
Dude i would love to have a diesel yota. Especially those 70 series ones. Those are one of the best overland vehicles! and if you have been following my trailer build thread you will see i have been really getting into overland stuff. i seriously cant wait to go on a weekend expedition once the trailer is finished. Also Mark is working on his 4door 2nd gen 4runner with blazeland long travel. He's thinking of making it into a nice fast overland vehicle too. Should call for fun times. I know you love stuff like this too. We can all make a trip together sometime soon!
Now how did i miss this post! Thank you dude I am really proud of all i accomplished this past year. I wish we could all meet up sometime for a wheeling trip. It would be alot of fun. Maybe some day when i finish my trailer build and make a road trip i could drop by. I told Ed we should do that some day when we both finish our builds. i think it would be pretty cool
Sorry for the late reply. as for engine swap from 3.0 to 3.4 i know the transmission and transfer case remains the same. but you need components from both the 3.4 and 3.0 bell housing and clutch components. i just dont know which ones. that is all i know. but you say you have an 85 so that means you must have had the 4 banger either 22r or 22re. and going from a 4cyl to a 6cyl does require the v6 trans. It sounds youre on the right track. I dont know too much on these swaps but i have heard alot about them.
I would reccomend pulling the whole 3.4 engine trans and transfer case along with entire exhaust system from headers, 02 sensor to catylic converter all the way to the end of the muffler, sensors and entire wire harness all off whatever donor vehicle you are getting it off of. I have never done it but from what i researched the swap is much easier to do when you have all of this present. sorry i couldnt be more help.

Every month a few of my buddies host a local "Jeep meet" but they welcome all vehicles. Usually a couple of our toyota friends and me come crash the party and show the Jeepers how the Toyota guys do it. We always get attention from the people attending these meets when we do crazy stuff like this. After all, we do have rock crawlers why not show off their capabilities! lol
My truck is the grey 4Runner to the left.

Hi Everyone. I know i haven't been on my 4runner build thread much. I am actually still very active on Yotatech on my trailer build thread; but acivity on the thread has seemed to have died down. I am mostly active on Instagram under my user name "Redeth005". I basically have the same exact trailer build thread on ExpeditionPortal.com. They seem to have all the awesome trailer builds and is where i have been getting alot of cool ideas from. So i am pretty active there. Basically everything i post on there i post on my Y.T. trailer build thread.
I have actually completed A TON of work to the trailer. the exterior is basically done already and ready for use. If you wan to read up on the build here is the link:

As for truck mods hat have been done over the past year or so it hasn't really been much. Ive been so busy dedicating most of my free time to the trailer build, Work, Girlfriend and kid. But i havent completely neglected the truck.
Here is a few cool mods i did:
I bought 8 pairs of All4OffRoad rock lights plus the SuperBrightLEDs remote controlled keychain relay. Same exact set up that Mark (Chefyota4x4) runs. I used 4 airs under my 4runner. The other 4 i plan to use on the trailer build. I ran all my wiring through the chassis to keep away from being damaged on the trail. and they are really bright!
Here's my new kid anxious to help me and his Momma install them on the truck. He loves to help out. We even got him some PPE (personal protecive equipment and a plastic tool set so he could help us out lol
Behold the sexiness!
Here we are at a truck/Jeep meet. His mom worked late so i picked him up from the baby sitter early so we could spend the night together before it was time to pick her up. He had a blast checking out all the big ol' trucks/jeeps. He spent a lot of the time showing off my truck for me and telling the story of how he helped!
Heres a few more shots
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Another cool mod i did; mainly for trailer purposes, was installed a Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Proportional brake controller
There it is installed. I think the hardest part was finding the correct brake wire to tap into but i just used my multimeter to find it and it was done. I chose this location because it is out of the way. And i gets in the way on the right side due to the e-brake
I also converted my stock 4pin wire harness to a 7 pole trailer connector for towing the custom trailer i built. 7 pole is required since i added electric drum brakes on the trailer.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And just for the heck of it i will add a couple of pix of the trailer to show off and hopefully get you guys to check out my trailer build thread.
This is a Max Coupler that i use to tow the trailer. Its the best offroad hitch on the market
The Night before taking the trailer to get inspected at the DMV
I PASSED INSPECTION!
And Here is how it currently sits:
By the way this is a king sized bed And as you can see on the inside picture you can see how much space is still inside. I am 5'8" 260lbs. And there's enough space to fit 3 of me up there. There will definitely be plenty of space for my girl and I and with her son Isaac.
Here is the full set up with annex. You can fit a full size blow up mattress in the annex if you really wanted to. or if you had more people camping with you. I Just didn set up he annex floor but it can be 100% contained if you want.

It's nice that the brake controller is removable. IF i ever get another vehicle i can just run new wires and use the one in my 4runner.
