My Junkyard Truck! Saved from the grave
Bought this truck in October of last year. My Dad has an auto business and this truck was owned by a customer of his. He was missing an intake tube piece and ran it through a puddle and hydrolocked it. Put a hole in the block. The kid couldn't afford a new motor... So he sold it to me dead for $1500. It is an 89 4x4 SR5 Xtra cab Sunroof 3.0 with new shocks and tires and paint (done poorly).
Being a poor college kid with a part time job, I decided to use the local wrecking yard to get this thing on the road. We pulled a whole motor out of a junk yard truck and rebuilt it (new rings, new pistons, new bearings, bored .30 over), and after about $800 My truck was on the road with a new motor! I also put new rims off of craigslist on it with the stock offset, because the old rims threw mud and rocks up the sides and i couldn't stand it. Also have done custom 6" kenwood speakers in the door panels and in the rears.
Since then I have replaced the A/C compressor, power steering gearbox, cooling fan, intake tubes, egr valves, and various interior components all from the wrecking yard.
And here I have my like new, fully functional junkyard truck!
First pic was before I bought it, second pic is the motor after installation and third is current state.

Cars are like food. They taste better when you make them yourself....
Wait.. That doesn't sound right.
Awesome junkyard save though. I don't think the paint looks that bad either.

The paint looks good when it is driving down the road. The guy before me did it in his garage with two coats of dodge viper blue and NO CLEARCOAT. Not to mention it orange peeled like crazy. But I don't have the time to repaint it so it is fine with me.
