Thanks, those look pretty good but a little bigger than I was thinking of. I am gonna dig through my stash and see what I can find. The ones I have mounted now work fine but are just in a crappy place and mounted with zip ties

i went ahead and ordered the parts, additional cost wasn't bad and figured i would rather have them and not need than have to wait for them to get here.
it was good to find out they were all still available
I looked at a few discount toyota sites and they were all priced very close to each other.
ended up getting them from https://www.toyotapartsdeal.com/
ordered on March 1st, had them by 3/6..

it almost seems counter intuitive to put 2wd stuff on a 4wd

Everyone loves new parts! That's a quick turnaround on that order. I'll check them out.

After 35 years under the 81 it was time to get rid of some rust and road grime.
About to start round 2 under the 4runner

Wow you ordered new parts! I never even thought of trying to buy new, ended up with junkyard parts.
The 1KD swap requires a new oil pan and sump, prices in the neighborhood of $300...ouch. So I think I will just end up modifying the existing by flipping the pan(not an option on the old IFS oil pans) and drilling a few holes. The sump will need extending. Wish we had these engines in the states.
looking forward to your updates.

This thing is going to be sweet when you get it back! Are you going to run the tires and wheels off the Trekker, or are you going with something else?

Thanks Ed! Original plan was to reuse the wheels and tires but I have never really been happy with the Goodyear MTR's, they almost seem like a bias ply and act like they have flat spots if the truck sits for a few days.
I am debating about selling them and getting some BFG KM2's. Some old school Outlaw II's would-be cool on this thing.

The sun showed up today so decided to try to clean up the 4" Trail Gear springs from the Trekker that are being recycled and thrown in the 4runner. Wasn't really happy with how high it sat so gonna give pulling the two smaller springs a shot to see if it ends up lowering the 4runner a little

The sun today was awesome! I haven't really seen it in a while.

I like your plan for the 4Runner. Great job so far.

Hopefully everyone has the last blast of winter. Looks like you are getting quite a bit done. There is a lot of things from the Trekker making it over to the runner.

It was sort of hard to find a frame brace for a 2nd Gen but Northwest Trail Innovations had a nice one 1/8" thicker than the other one I found, 3/8" thick should give a bit of beef

This will help the frame survive winch duties

Haha...the plate will actually be mounted behind the Trail Gear Bumper

I hear you, hoping it doesn't end up like a sky scraper too.
front hanger is the low profile mount from Low Range so that should help along with using the old spring from the Trekker.

Thanks for the ideas on the Prelude seats, Robb.
I'm shopping for them now. I like those on the 1987-1999's. Firm and promotes an upright, alert posture. Stock Toyota seats make one slouch. I hate that

Reluctanse and Robb,
Don't know if you already did the wiring but that's ^^ the same wiring scheme Redeth, Chefyota and I used on ours, except we fused (I used fusible link 4 gages smaller than the bat-to-alt wire) the new direct batt-direct-to--alt cable at the battery.

Good to know, haven't tackled it yet, but will do it in the next couple of months

truck is ready to head down to 85toyman's shop as soon as he gives me a call.

Hope to pick up some new donuts this week
