Chefyota4x4's Ruby R3dRuM to "Suzy-Q the Silverback" Body Swap Thread!
Most of those who follow my build thread are, but many might not be, aware of the fact that i three quarter rolled my beautiful red cherry rig on the last day and last hour so to speak of the king of the hammers 2014....
Within a week, I found hey cherry 1989 V6/A-TM 4 runner.... Pretty much , this thing is freaking cherry! In many ways, it's cleaner than mine front to back on the floor and has 000 .0 0 0 rust! I am in the process of pulling this body and prepping my own for a body swap....
The paint is not perfect almost 1 but there is no major body damage and paint this something that can be fixed at any point. Don't get me wrong, its not fading or chipped really badly,... nothing of the sort. Its just a little milky and could use a couple good go over with my orbital, etc. But eventually it will need to be painted if I want it to look like my red one did. Right now? I could give a crap!
I will start with a couple pictures and share how far am to this point...
Ruby R3dRuM Down! .... ( the damage would leave me with something even one fixed that I could never be sure of the safety and it would be very difficult one up. Also, I got the donor truck for under $1000, and the bodywork and paint alone would probably be near 5000. Yeah, that was a difficult decision! Lol....
" Suzy-Q the Silverback "....

ANYONE ( disclaimer: minus the criminally insane or tweekers or both... Hahaha) ..... And I mean anyone who thanks they can lend a hand, personally, weather over the Internet or specifically at my home, please let me know? Being that it is a 3.0 automatic, I have a few more things to contend with but nothing in-surpassable! For anyone that is actually skills are knowledgeable of this that might require a little compensation, I might be able to help. I can't promise mechanics wages, because I am struggling enough as it is. But I am very grateful for any help and can possibly offer some parts or something of the sort if it is the type of help that would be extremely valuable to me. Otherwise I can do it myself, along with a couple buddies there already helping.
I will update as often as I can but as you can imagine I am extremely busy with this. I have a few weeks off for the first time in a long time, so I am fully pouring myself into this and caregiving for my mother.....
Thanks for checking this out,
Chef out!

Ok, done being a jack wagon...so yeah, you already know I'm down to help, and I can request some days, but I gotta know which ones. I already have Sunday and Monday off, what's everyone else got available that's willing to help?

I can honestly say I'm jealous of both ur runners and what have/will be doing to them. Wish I was closer to give u a hand. If u can't get the "shine" u want out of the silver one and its in good enuf shape, couldn't u get a fresh coat of clear sprayed on it? May be a cheaper route than repainting the whole thing? That is, unless ur after a different color. Personally, I think the silver looks great. Course, red looked great also lol. Keep us updated as I'm sure u will.

Holy man Chef. I just saw your new thread today. Sorry to hear about your Ruby, we all know you have put in A LOT of work into her. I have no doubt that this new one will be as good as Ruby...just wont be red (unless of course when you get around to painting her it just happens to be RED!). Good luck on your build and I will be keeping an eye for all your updates.

Hahaha.... I'm on it as much as I can. Lots done!
Yes! ....... I'm done!....... Unscrewing that bolt in the back corner. :-( lol.
Thanks buddy. I'm very glad about it myself. You know, many people don't wanna put the option of a do over on the rig they spent tons of time on ...So I very grateful!
