Sorry wrong button  so like I said after today it will look different I am picking up some toyo MTs 33x10.50 ! Just what I was looking for. New custom bumper off c list might have to get a winch mount welded on it but what ever. Probably gonna get a full alignment and then picking a pair of gutter racks and a basket my dads letting me have. so tomorrow my rig will be looking much better. I am also getting door mirrors in the mail today. Got some front leds installed looking good. I also bought a new horn from harbor freight it sounds like an air horn!!! Super loud but I tested my wiring to my old horn and I'm not getting any voltage so I gotta try and trace that back

Brighter then my headlights
This was my first time wiring in lights so figuring out the fire wall was tricky at first but got it down pretty good. Now I need to figure where I want the switch

Got 33s
Torsion bars get cranked a little today to help out a little and gotta hammer in a little bit. They ride nice they don't rub unless I'm turned all the way and flexed

And got the new bumper on last night had a little battle with mounting because the bumpers mount holes were spot on on driver side and the passenger side was off by about 1/2 inch so I driller out another hole and spent about a half hour trying to get it the right size but it's strong and built by a old friend of mine that stumbled upon on Craigslist he had a completely built bobbed 1st gen pickup it was 1980 full 5 inch trail gear dual arb lockers full custom interior. I was really happy to buy a bumper off of a friend and then find out he's a bigger yota geek then any one els I know.

Now the bad news. I knew it needed a valve adjustment and its been making a strange noise that I can't really describe I do know my front main seal on the main pulley is leaking and at idle it seems to be a little wobbly I will try and video tape it so the sound can be heard. But my worry is I need to do the timing chain! Which would be a bummer right before summer. Well my buddy who sold me the bumper said he'd adjust the valves for me and take a look and teach me how to adjust the valves so. Maybe to come possible full rebuild maybe just head gasket and timing chain

Had a blast on Saturday I went up mt hood again and attempted to go to badger lake. Well I scared my self real good almost lost the truck a couple times down the cliff side

Luckily there was a random guy out there all by him self in a 67 bronco fully locked and geared 35s sfa man it was a nice rig. But we were lucky to run into this guy he basically saved us from the clif a couple of times and I aired down to 12psi to really get outa the snow. He had bead lockers he was 6 psi.
I was just mobbin down a real fun trail and finally came up on some snow and about 1/4 mile into the snow. The road was blocked by his rig and at this point the snow was getting deep the guy got out of his truck and said hi. This guy had on 70s style gym shorts on. at first I didn't think he had pants on! Strange people hang out in the woods. Any ways so he moved and told me he came in from that way and the road was pretty bad and I didn't know there was a hill on the other side. So he moved and he said he would be coming back down in a few. I went down the hill and as I was going I knew there was no turning around because I knew there was no way to make it up the hill going back so now I'm in it to win it and my two buddy's are starting to get nervous. I basically learned to ride first gear in 4low really well and maintaining a steady throttle. At one point the bronco got in front of me and he was hooked to me by town strap and we had to go over a inward bend and I knew I would slip off so he went and basically crawled across it slipping rear end and front end cranked all the way just barely schooching across! Thought I was gonna crap my pants! The snow on the hill basically made the road 45 degree angle sketchy but we made it out

And at the end right before dark we made it close enough to the lake we could hike up the hill side about 100 ft and see this beautiful lake in a very hard to get to valley good fishin in there. Badger lake has been called the worst road in Oregon by quite a few people and I experienced part of it and I think I'm done till I get lockers and winch snow is too scary when your that high up and the ledge is right there I love the thrill for sure but when things get real and your doing your best to not let your truck roll off a cliff and with you in it possibly it's not worth it. I will be returning to badger lake when the other entry's open up March 31st and April first all the forest roads are opened

I mean when I look back at it I had so much fun had my heart rate up for a good hour or 2 my buddy's got out and walked for awhile. they aren't really off road enthusiasts but one of em has grown up doing this with family so that's was helpful the other guy said he's not ever getting in my truck again !! Lol hahahaa. The thing is that feeling of fear and excitement is super addicting and every time you go out u find things that u wish your truck had or could do.

now I really want to pull a Cadillac air compressor so I can get a on boar air system going to air up tires. A winch I think is a must if I wanna keep doing cliffs and runnin on the mountains and now looking into a Aussie locker for my front end. I feel that for me being on and off road and the money putting it in the front end will be the best bet to save tires because it will never be locked unless my hubs are locked which they are only locked when I 4wd it now I don't know how much more work this is gonna be to put in because the rear end is much more open but for me that's gonna be a good learning experience

A winch would be the first thing to get, especially going out by yourself. Knowing how to properly use "block and tackle" is just as important.
For the locker Id go with one in the rear first, might have to adjust your driving habits to get the max life from your tires on the street.

Been awhile since I've posted
I've been trail riding all summer as I have a daughter on the way and will be here late September!! Really excited. I've been back to badger lake with the fam and the new puppy for a nice 4th of July camping trip.
Got some ball joint spacers off of a local machinist. I got under the truck and found my exhaust to be completely broken off where the flange would have been off the down pipe. So now I'm going to try n find a new cat here in town. While I was down there I realized my passenger rear shock has been broken and disconnected from the axle. My guess is that because of the zuk mod with stock height shocks. So I'm gonna pick up some pro comp es3000 2.5 inch lift and install them with the bj spacers hopefully next weekend.
It has been holding up great in the summer heat it's been about 90degrees the last 2 months.
I did have to put a new battery in and found that my alternator was dead. I was curious on what could be wrong with the alternator. I disassembled it and installed new brushes because one was completely worn down. Put the alternator back in and works great. I do tho on Long drives when it's hot out and if I use the aux power or the ac my break and battery light kinda flicker. Wondering if it's a connection issue.

Here's that shock what a surprise that was I guess I didn't notice while I driving because that tj spring in there

86 long bed budget build

Got a new shock for a quick fix same Monroe I got the bj spacers in took my tow bar off because I didn't use it or plan to tow with a 22re. Now my rear end sits pretty high up got a cheap exhaust done to it magnaflow cat 2.5 inch all the way to the muffler but got no tail pipe cause I want to triangulate the rear so I'll finish the tail pipe once that's done. I was having more issues with my alternator. My charge light would come on about 10 mins into driving. I bought a trail gear gm bracket and got a powermaster 150 amp alternator. Swapped that in last weekend. Runs good and nothing has seemed to fail yet I did the 3 wire mod because I like my voltmeter to work. It's pretty big in the bay so I had to move a lot of stuff so that took awhile. If any one has any questions on doing his let me know I ended up shaving down the top bracket just a little bit where the power steering pump touches it and painted it. Here's the truck today with front lift and all. Next suspension stuff to happen has got to be some kind of different lift in the rear I like the look of the coils in there but it's way to stiff and doesn't flex at all. Thinking about sway bar disconnects for the front.

I thought it looks pretty good I have I wanna put some mounting spots on it I have some I took out of a 2nd gen at the yard thought about trying to mount some small leds flush in it so nothing would damage them but I kinda like chefyotas set up with the second cargo light. I will end up doing some flexible led tubing through the cargo and under the dash and seats for maximum lighting
I have another clean cargo panel that's getting painted black and replaced just gotta paint the other side and the cargo area will be done with paint until I do the floor and back of the seats with diamond plate.
