I picked this 4 runner up last may and ever since I have had this vision I want it to be. I dont have a ton of money so nothing to intense right now.
This was the first day i brought it back and where it all started.

1 week after I got it I decided it needed a new pair job. That 29 year old paint was getting ugly. Its primed sanded and all the rust has been clean out. Hood removed.

Body looks sick but the wheels need some serious work.

I dont have rear seats. I have that like metal plate thing and with that in or out if you are over 5'5" you cant lay flat in the truck with out the gate down. That wasnt going to work for ski season. So I ripped a 4x8 sheet of osb to size and placed it over the wheel wells and now I have a very level flat surface to lay flat on. Obviously sleeping on wood sucks so I bought a roll of 5x8 shag carpet and stapled it on to make it a bit nicer to put a air mattress on. I got tired of that and wanted something more comfortable. I bought a 50 dollar never used memory foam toppet and cut that to size. I have a bed that is like my one at my house and taked 2 minutes to take out and put back in. Cost $50 for topper $15 for carpet and osb was free. Not a bad investment in my opinion. Makes car camping super nice.

If any one has some ideas on how to fix the stock spare tire carry please let me know. I already have a few ideas just from looking at other post but it would be ideal if i could figure a way out to fix the the stock one.

Back to current day. I have put a new 22re in and dropped it in at 219k. The last one I spun the bearings. New clutch and all those good things. Today I got bored so I took that ugly white tin strip underneath the bumper and decided to do a littlw painting. Pulled the skid plate off and instead of matte black I decided red would go very nice with the fresh matte black around it. Soon I will be making custom elbows for the front bumper out of sheet metal or something along those lines untill I scrape enough money to get a new bumper. Stay tuned for some more low bundget mods.

I'm digging where you're goin. Also where you live. My sister lives up in athol and my brother in laws family lives up Samuels area. Me and the missus were thinking about moving up there around spirit lake. So, you might see our white runner around every now and then.

so, what are the plans for the future?

I live in cda. We have a cabinet shop out in rathdrum so im out there a lot and thats where I do most of my work on the runner . Im planning this summer to get a new bumper and maybe a winch. When I get more money I will get bigger wheels and tires. Found a basicly new 40" rigid light bar and kc lights on CL for 300 which was sick. Should be putting those on this week. Keep you guys posted.

What's going on with your tire carrier?
