SqWADoosh's 1985 Runner Build
#41
Nice looking 4runner! Sounds like you have some big plans for it! The air injection block off plates would be for the smog the small diameter tubes that bolted to your stock exhaust manifold( if you still have it in place, most cases in our state theyve been removed already). Here's a link to what it looks like, I'm in the process of de-smogging my 22r in my 83'. https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f197...28/index2.html

Δ huh, whats up with the angry face, must of done that by acident, lol
Are 4runners could be twins, mine has the same exterior and interior colors, except its an 86'
How do you like the Bighorn tires? I ran some 33s for over a year before trading a couple weeks ago for some 35s. I had about 7000 miles on them with no signs of wear, I'd buy another set, just 35s next time. Look forward to seeing more of your build!

The idle surge is odd. I would definitely try to check the TPS. 4Crawler has a great writeup on it.
Here it is.

Your runner is really in great shape. Even more so after seeing the interior pics. Looks great.
Cant really help on the Thorley header. I have a full length header but not certain what make it is, as it was on the truck when I purchased it.

When I pulled my TB for my TPS, I just stuck a few shop towels and a plastic bag under the coolant lines, left the rad cap on, and pulled the TB.
I only lost a little coolant and was able to catch it all.
Worth a shot, its 100% easier adjusting/testing a TPS with the TB off.

Well I got my headers and installed them today
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/dt.../model/4runner
They fit great except for one issue....
The angle is different and therefore my new CAT will not bolt up to my current muffler. So I guess that's my excuse to get a brand new 40 series Flowmaster with a custom piping setup!
Also added some HP like I said and here are the promised pics
