Sinners 84 truck build

Hey everyone! I'm 14 and my uncle started me on this truck for my first time car. The old frame had a crack on it so we had to pull everything off of it. I started welding for the first time a little over 11 weeks ago, and I finished it two weeks ago. The cab holes are busted, but I already cut thick pieces of metal for them, and my uncle welded them on the outside of the holes and I drilled the holes. Next weekend we will weld the thick medal to the inside of the cab and I'll drill the holes again and i will slap on some undercoating on and inside the cab and the new frame. Here are some pictures I have, I have a lot more recent ones on my phone and I'll try to get these up here as soon as I can.

I have dual gas tanks and I'm planning on dual transfer cases, probably a two inch lift to start out with, a new paint job, I was thinking graphite gray with black stripes. I need new seats and carpets, and I want a front bumper guard too. Any help is appreciated or suggestions!

Welcome to Yotatech. Nice that your uncle is getting you started young with lots of good advice and helping you do some major work. Wish I would of started some major project at your age. You keep this and you are going to be doing some serious builds when you get some time and experience under your belt. Take all of the advice you can from him and it will get you leaps and bounds ahead of having to learn it on your own. Looking forward to your build.

Great project!! I agree with Terry about starting young. It will catapult your ability to do this kind of work when you are older. And any chance you get to soak up free knowledge that someone is offering.... DO IT!!

Nice guys it means a lot! So just a heads up, my uncle sold my topper without talking to me. I own the truck, cause I'm putting so much money into it but I don't hold the title. I already have the money to buy it from him and I plan on doing that this weekend, for a birthday present for me. He sold my topper to some guy who could weld shut a leak in his thermostat I think ( once he told me that he sold my topper I stopped listening ). I would have understood and I would have been willing to sell my topper to help him out if he would of talk to me about it instead of doing it behind my back, and telling everyone that I haven't bought it yet so he can do whatever he wants with it until I buy it.

So here's what we did the last three weekends. We pulled the cab off the dolley and put it on jack stands, than We fill welded the thick plates on the inside. Than we put all four shocks on, cause I ran out of welding wire. After that we vacuumed out the cab. After a week I got more wire and finished fill welding. Than we under coated the inside( I'll get better picks tomorrow, it was still wet before we left but I went wild) we also undercoated the bottom of the cab after we picked it back up. We have one more hole to drill, than we are putting it back on the frame, dropping the engine in it, and putting the transmission in, and maybe everything else if we have time.

autozone carries lowering and lifting block sets for the rear end and then you just adjust the torsion bars. the adjustment bolts are right below your passenger and driver seats.if anybody else has any better recommendations feel free to correct me but autozone lifting and lowering kits are only 40 bucks after tax tops
