Well, my plan is to build the car for use in challenge competitions.I also hope to make it street legal, but i am living in Norway so i know its difficult .
I have painted the cab whith "yellow sand" well I think it is a little too yellow, but it is possible to paint it again i guess
I have also welded most off the brackets on to the frame.
Leafsprings is mounted
Front aksel is completely overhauled.
I mounted the engine last weekend.
the next thing I have to do is shorten the rear propshaft ( the frame is shorten), and make a new in front ( i move the aksel 5 cm forward).

I think that the sand yellow color looks pretty good, but if you're looking for more of a khaki color, the old Land Cruiser dune beige is always nice looking.

I was going to do a swap from an 82 or 93 diesel Toyota 2WD (L motor, 2.2liter no turbo). I got the head rebuilt and reinstalled, and replaced water pump, timing belt and pulleys, but I could NOT get replacement injectors and they were worn badly. It ran fine but I didn't want to go through all of the work of transferring the wiring harness and fuel system from the donor truck and getting it all done only to run ito injector problems a year or two later! Gave up.

An 89-03 VW ALH TDI engine was another option (still is), but that is even more work!

I wish we had diesel drivetrain parts for theses trucks. I love the torque and fuel economy, never cared about winning drag races... not that you could in one of these trucks without a V8 swaphttps://www.yotatech.com/forums/images/smilies/lof.gif

Offroad Challenge is a kind of orientation in woodland. Participants driving a lap with start and finish. In a lap, it may for example be 10 crossing points. All passes must be recorded on a card to get approved as a round. A round can for example provide 200 points. At the crossing points, there is also an additional challenge that gives points according to difficulty. If you manage all challenges in a lap this also provides extra points. Most points during for example 10 hours is victory. Very tiring and enjoyable competition. When it comes to design, I'm not sure, but it's going to be flatbeded, roll cage, lots of light for night driving ..

Hey it's been a while since I've been on the forum. Thought I'd post some pictures of what I've done since last time ..
As you can see from the pictures I've fitted tank across the frame for better clearance. Started up the car and tested flexibility, but found that the leaf springs are too stiff. More update coming later today or tomorrow ...

Took off two laefs in front and back. This helped a lot. Mounted on fenders and iroc`s,seats and put a lot off work with the electric, the cab has gaselectric so there were some challenge there.. took a trip into the woods to test, it felt good to driving again..

This is a very cool build, I like the color. Also I think I'll start using "aksel" instead of axle to appear more culture savvy. It's cool how Toyotas are loved worldwide.

Well, now I'm almost finished with the bed. Thought it looked good with aluminum in fields.I have also built the rear bumper..Much work, but now it starts to look like a car..next step is to build an crib for the winsj.I like to hide the winsj under the bed..more pictures comming..

I really like the flat bed, the diamond plate is a nice touch, looks awesome! Cool idea having the winch mounted underneath the bed.
