All that weight is a lot, but I guess the Toy handled it. Keep on improving your little gem and keep on giving updates. It encourages me with my '80 LB

Hmm just talk to a guy who buys parts in bulk and he said he was going to send me a 5gallon bucket worth of new parts for my motor no charge but that's after he tried to buy my yota from me lol guess the old saying is true "if ya can't beat em, join em"

Be sure you put plenty of sta-bil in the gas and that it gets into the carb so varnish won't give you headaches when you return.
Put the tires on wood or rubber mats or best jack them off the ground/floor.
If you cover the truck with plastic, you might be sorry because trapped moisture could ruin the vehicle in the time you will be gone.

Got a chance to take it wheeling again I was surprised at how much power my stock 20r had! It was nice to take it out for the last time and JP thanks for the advice I'm probably going to have my grandpa crank it and run it every now and then while I'm gone he also has a shop I can keep it in so no tarps and I was one step a head with running sta bil through it I figured it would help it was good to know I made a good choice!

Ill try to get some pics and post them later also they tend to load their trucks more than we Americans ever thought about loading them its fun to watch these truck work!

Cameroon ?
Well, it might be just as interesting to hear about your adventure in Africa as it will be to read and see photos of your Toyota build. Have to insert some Toyota tech info every now and then for that here, I suppose...

Finally getting ready to come home and go to college hoping to get some time to work on my truck before I go. I'd like to put my decent bed on but I hate to take a truck with a yellow cab and camo bed to college haha but it would be something to work on in my spare time and practice some bodywork.

I started my 80 rebuild about the time you bought your truck. Well, you're faster than I am and I finally have the carb off ready to rebuild. I also ordered a bunch of brake parts and want to get this done before I die. I told you way back when--that you would be finished with yours before I got anything done with mine which has been sitting since 2006 except for one 1/2 hour outing. Mine looks alot like yours.
