I was finally able to fire the 2rz up this weekend. Have everything wired and in now. Only ran into one problem and that is the 2rz idling high. Haven't figured out what it is but have a couple ideas of what might be causing it. Was able to run the motor harness through my firewall and make it look like it is supposed to be there as well.

Just read thru your build thread, awesome work, its a completely different truck than what you started with! I bet it feels rewarding to drive now that the engine swap is all finished! I really like your 80' pickup too, you got a really sweet pair of first gens!

Was able to put some miles on my truck to make sure I wasn't gonna run into any problems. I didn't have any so decided it was time to go have some fun with it done! Took it up the mountain and found some snow with my buddies.

Thanks. I wanted to make it look like it was meant to be in there and not just thrown in there in a weekend.

Haven't really done anything to my truck lately. Just been out enjoying it. I have run into a problem though with the 2rz power steering pump. I have already burned up two of them. I plan on doing an upgrade soon.

Not 100% sure... I'm thinking it might be because it is a 2wd power steering pump and doesn't like turning 36 in tires...

no power steering pumps like big tires if the 4x pump won't keep up then hook a auto trans cooler up to it or maybe try that first

I think I'm just going to upgrade the whole power steering system that way I don't have to worry about it.

So finally decided it was time to get something to daily drive so that I can park the first gen and not have to worry about finishing what I started in a weekend. I am planning on building the axles, finishing the interior, maybe dual case it, and getting it painted. Plus a couple little things here and there such as fixing the power steering, replacing the throttle body and whatever else I find that needs to be fixed or upgraded. Anyways picked up an 08 Toyota Tacoma Double cab as a daily driver.
