Really nice work dude! You've inspired me to tackle some of the bigger jobs on my driveline and brakes. My wife is already jealous of my truck, now I can say it was your fault!! Haha

Paint!!!
The truck really made a lot of progress at the body shop over the past few weeks. The body was smoothed out and the undercoater was sprayed under the bed.
More bodywork being done to the cab and fenders:
Bed in sealer:
The body shop was still open the other night after work, so I stopped by to check the progress and was surprised to see the bed back on the truck about 80% of the truck painted!
The body shop still has a few misc. things to do over the next couple weeks, but I should have it back around mid-December and it'll be ready for me to do the remaining mechanical work and final assembly.

Getting Closer
It's been a busy last three weeks at the paint shop. Everything was on schedule and looking good until I got a call from the shop saying the stripes had a ton of air bubbles and were not sticking Knowing I wanted to try to keep the paint scheme as original as possible, they asked if they could paint the stripes on at no extra charge. I said as long as the colors matched, to go head.
The next day I received this picture from them:
To say the least I was thrilled at the way the stripes looked! Last week, I went over to check it out and this is what I found:
There is still a little left to do at the paint shop, but I should have it back in the next couple weeks, and the work for me begins again

Looks great man! Just picked up an pretty clean 81 and I am thinking of doing some of the step by step things you have done. How did the final build turn out? Looks like it's been awhile, hope you still have it.
