87 Camry dies in drive, runs good in reverse
1987 Toyota Camry wagon, 2.0 automatic. Runs good, starts fine, backs up with no problem. Put it in drive, engine dies. On jackstands, it will run in drive until you put the brakes on. I think the lockup converter is locking up before it should and causing this but I'm not 100% certain. What I'm looking for is a wiring diagram so I can isolate solenoid # 3 and see if I'm anywhere near correct.

The problem was found and repaired.
The engine lifting hook on right side was digging into the main harness and shorted out intake air temp wire. Engine rocks backwards in forward gear and zap. Easiest repairs are sometimes the hardest to diagnose. Took an assistant dropping it into gear while I looked around under the hood.
Hope this helps somebody down the road.
You guys still rock

Dude, this is one of those problems that makes you rage until you catch it, and then you laaauuuugh and laaaaauuugh... Good job. I'm a veteran professional tech and that would have driven me insane.
