So after wrestling with the distributor since monday. I've given up. I called a Mustang performance shop just down the street from my house. He wants $350 bucks! .... Yeah right.
There's a mechanic shop right behind the office I work at, So i walked over there. He wants an hour of labor to install everything! $95 bucks. So im definitely gonna have him do it. He's gonna assemble my wires, install the coil, the distributor, and setup my electronic choke a little bit better. haha

Got the ignition squared away. Runs so much smoother, the miss is gone, and its much more responsive... just need to get a box for it now and get more power out of it!

Looking good, and it sound awesome! I still need to take a ride in that thing.
As far as a new Toyota goes, I wouldn't cross out getting a 3rd gen 4runner or Tacoma just because you don't think it can tow much. What would you be towing that is so heavy anyway?
3rd gen's are designed to tow up to 5000 lbs. anyways. I have no problem towing our 2 600 pound snowmobiles on the 800 pound trailer up Sonora Pass at grades of 26%, on top of all the mods to the 4runner. Do you really think you'll be towing more than that? I'm hell bent on towing a house trailer partway across the US in a couple months, and I have no doubts in my mind that it will do just fine.

Looks great! You can't go wrong with MSD
Any new leads on a new Toyota or have you given up? I haven't checked your other build in quite a while...
EDIT: I just read a few of the previous posts. Seems like you're still looking. Good luck!

Put a stereo in the Mustang the other day. It was more of a spontaneous buy because my power went out in the house and I needed something to do. So I ran to fry's to see what kind of sales they had.
The deck i initially wanted was out of stock but they had the model below that had a crushed box from delivery. It came with all the same warranties and a 5% mark down. So I bought it haha
Deck - MP3, CD, BlueTooth, Pandora, USB and plug hook up.
Here it is fitted into a 1967 mustang stereo bezel. This was my biggest worry because I wasn't sure how it was going to fit. luckily the previous owner gave me this bezel that was already cut for a modern deck.
I went with Polk Audio 6x5 speakers. I've always ran Pioneer Type S speakers in the past. I had a full pioneer system in the 4Runner. So i figured i'd go a little higher quality. Not to mention they also look pretty cool. The Kick Panel is from Sac Mustang but I think you can get it anywhere online. Its cut to fit any 6x5 speaker. Just need to drill into it for the mounting screws.
Install took me an hour or so, but here it is! works great.
Another shot of the kick panels and speakers installed. the speakers have a built in tweeter in the middle that pivots. The kick panels fit and work perfectly.
I'll be replacing my old kenwood 6x9s that are currently in the car but not hooked up with some polk audio 6x9s. but for now, I like how it sounds.

So the mustang popped its rear main seal while it was driving and basically burned up the tranny :/ lovely... Think the mustang is gonna be down for a bit while I collect parts for a T-5, fixing the shock tower, and getting new suspension.
we'll see... who knows.

yeah its kinda disappointing... i've had issues with that C4 since I bought the car. I swear i've burned like 150 bucks in fluid. lol
yeah im pretty pleased with the stereo. its nice having tunes.
Im gonna see about rebuilding the C4 vs the T5... i know the T5 is a MUST-DO mod in these. with a T5 and 4.10s these cars tear up the road. but I just cant see myself spending 1200-1500 bucks on a tranny setup just yet without owning a toyota again.

Dang, just saw this, ..............
YES, I get it..... the latter part. Makes perfect, logical sense to wait on that serious a mod/upgrade. BUT THAT DOESN'T ALWAYS WORK,.... the logic thing, in stopping us, does it? hahahaha. Jk, you'll do fine with a C4.... My HP 289 66GT put it TO THAT THING, ....and it was hard to break. I DID, however, go to a beefed up set st up in, that, ..... well, at the time, I found in the "Recycler", ...remember that? lol.
The C6 with the 390 GTA's both did fine as well.... for MANY miles. It all depends on how much WHEELIE-MODE you intend to upgrade to, ya know? Paxton, etc., etc., lol... Or just 'QUICK AND CLEAN!'?
BTW, thought INSTANTLY of the "MakStang" you got there when this thing pulled in front of me... I was on the move, so the pics aren't great... and I know, he's mocked it up a bit..... but it was VERY clean, regardless. >>>>
Couple other recent "FORD's" while I'm at it.... Just to spark this thread back to life while your in hiatus! hahaha....>>>
My 66GT/K and Comet Capri 390 GTA with 429 in it(I know, it's a Merc.... but SAME THING! haha).........
Another couple I saw at a shop I frequent.... *(same owner )*>>
Is this a FORD? hahaha>>>> (my tire guys shop... one of his clients)...
You'll get it, man! (hopefully soon, cuz I was getting excited haha... Now I'm hav'n'2 bump this betty TTT!
