Nah, just being jealous. I've been married coming up on 12 years and wouldn't trade it for anything. It's just real hard for me to justify spending money on a project car ever since I've been married. There's plenty of time though; maybe in another 4 or 5 years I'll be more inclined.

Have you seen the '67 GT500 Eleanor throwback that's been at the Quality Auto shop on Douglas just East of Sunrise the last few days? That thing sure is purrty!!

Haha yeah. Being 22, I have absolutely no desire right now to be married or have children. Wouldn't mind a loyal girl to eventually make that happen, but right now? No way.

Yep! seen it a few times. Beautiful/gorgeous as it may be, thats just not my style I hate seeing trailer queens. Its a car, its meant to be driven. This is why I went with my coupe. It needs work but its flawless when it comes to mechanical. being that its 98% rust free, all it needs is paint, and suspension to be a reliable driver!

I agree 100%. I couldn't stand to have a car to just look at and NOT drive.

YEP, full on TOP OF THE LINE body and paint on classics is NOT cheap.... But hey, LIFETIME GUARANTEE! And it'll be FLAWLESS, that's the difference. Why do this half way, right?

Just got bummed out Went over to get my shock towers fixed with a huge grin on my face. and when The guy that initally gave me a quote over the phone looked at it, he basically said that the shock tower needs to be removed, and rewelded in. Or do a mustang II conversion. regardless, my 300 dollar quote got another zero added to it. So... im pretty disappointed right now.

Nevermind, im in a better mood now.

just drove next door to the people who gave me a paint quote. They said they'd paint the engine bay, fix and brace the broken shock tower and brace the one that isn't cracked for an extra $1000 bucks. which is what the original shop orginally quoted me golden!

So the Mustang gave me some attitude on friday. It popped the tranny cooler hose again. So because it keeps doing that, I've decided to go forward with a T5 conversion. Im going to try and budget it around ~$1,000 bucks. I initially planned to do this sometime later in the future, but I feel as if this'll add some excitement to driving the stang around town. ( i've never owned an automatic car and quite frankly, its boring )

Also, I didn't have a battery tie down and the battery that was in it slid into the alternator blade and got cut up pretty good. Not to mention it flung battery acid all over. So it basically ate the paint off the export brace, and on the fender. I also had just replaced my antenna with a brand new reproduction, but I'll have to buy another one now, since it down right looks like **** since the chrome is completely gone. I thoroughly cleaned everything with baking soda. and nothing else got damage done to it except the Antenna.

One more thing. I ordered my Shock tower repair/reinforcement kit:
http://www.opentrackerracingproducts.com/towerkit/

These will basically make it so I can handle a done up big block 390. so the 289 should be no problem.

So with that. Here's what I did last night:

Diehard Platinum battery - $230 bucks
Stainless steel battery cables - $70
Rubber strap from home depot. - $2

my .02 about the battery. Totally overkill. They come with a 100 month ( 8 years ) warranty. Since the quality of Optima's have really dropped, These are a great buy. with the amount of electrical equipment in my 67, Im sure i'll never have an issue with it.

Yeah. This is supposedly better than an optima and my optima never left me stranded in the 4Runner... even when i went to the drive ins. it still always started up after 2 hours.

With the amount of electrical on this car. it'll never go until its old. lol

Reinforcement plates are shipped out, and should be here this week.

Just ordered a set of rims, center caps, and lug nuts. also ordered a goodyear hi miler hose kit and some 8.5 MSD wires that will go along with my autolite copper core spark plugs.

I'll be ordering a replacement oil pan. ( not sure if i wanna mod it yet, or go with a stock replacement. ) and fixing my oil leak. then everything will be nice and tight.

Either way you do the pan.... Get the dual stage drain plug... LOVE mine! That way, you never have to worry about stripping out the oil pan plug, ever!

Nice on the rest... Glad to hear it's on the way.

PS> Time to modify the sig "Sold.... looking for LC Beasty!" hahaha.

haha yeah. I seriously love this mustang. I've been really searching for a rig lately, but there's just NOTHING i fall in love with. theres a few sweet 86+ IFS rigs. thers a nice 85. and theres a few FZJ80s that never called me back. but nothing besides the 80 is really getting my attention.

I think I might bite the bullet and go for a 1st gen tacoma double cab :O lol but we'll see.

I forgot to add, Im wrapping the new rims with hankook v12s. should look bad ass!

Hey,..... Did you see that Sequoia Beast Thread? I'm subbed... can't remember his name... Good dude.... Anyway, curious what you think of those... cuz I've seen some SICK ones! V8 too.

Also, .... I've seen a couple 85 LC's with TONS of mods, including one with a 1UZ, ect.... but always really pricey, and everything else has YEARS on it in comparison... Hmmmfh.... Maybe if you're patient you'll find the EXACT, fairly stock, ready to mod LC for the right price... I see them down here all day long, man! The Lexus versions a lil newer, too.

OH YEAH... and my neighbor and I were cruising down PCH and heading into the parking lot of a shopping center.... Suddenly I hear this 'VROOOOOOOOOM/chirp', ...look over and it's a Right hand Driver side 4door Tacoma, SFA, Yota-V8! We both got out as he parked and he was an Aussie.. He said, "Yea, really hard to get these over here... Lots of 'extra cost', ..but I'm here for good now, just visiting down home.. So, I bit the bullet and paid to get one over here".... I guess you can get anything if you really want it bad enough, eh? haha...

What year double cab you talking? 2000's? Or 2010's+

2000+ double cabs. lol

Yeah my mustang can really lay rubber. too bad its a single tire fryer. lmao but with small tires, and a shift kit. it can spin those little tires for days. I'll have to see what it can do once i have 4.10s, a 5 speed, and LSD in it!
