Motorcycle season approaches!

Today in Loveland it was 60 degrees or so, and I went out to my old beat up bike and said hello. The old '83 Kawasaki Spectre 550 has been sitting all winter, exposed to the elements, and it fired right up! I borrowed a gas can, topped her off, and spun around the neighborhood for a bit! Yeeeeeeehaww!!!! That bike is the best $200 I ever spent, lol...it's therapy, transportation, recreation, and a project all in one. And it's purdy too....a classic...

This picture is from when I first bought it, a year ago. It had been sitting for two years in the hot Pueblo sun. I replaced the boots connecting its 4 carburetors to its manifold, changed the oil, air filter, and plugs, and welded an exhaust crack. Then I drove it all summer. God, it needs tires though, lol...
Let's see those bike pics folks!

It's not quite riding weather here yet, but I'm excited to get my first bike out there. It was free from my boss. I have to get it ready yet, but it wont take long.

It's too cold here yet for me. 20 degrees F is too cold on a bike. But I'm looking forward to it!

Hey a fellow nighthawk owner! Ive got a 83 nighthawk 750. Has only 13500 miles and has never been droped. Unfortunitly its got something going on where only 3 of the pistons are working and evry 1nce in a while it hits-casing it to surge. Have to get that fixed before riding

Ah bike season, I have no pics but I ride a Suzuki SV1000N. Here in MA we are still at least a month away, probably two. I won't pull the bike out until all the sand and salt has been swept away. I normally start it once or twice but not this year, but I have no doubt it will fire right up.

The Spectre runs great, but last October, I left the fuel in the prime position, and it emptied a full tank into the cranckcase. I started it up and it splooged oily gas all over out of the intake. What a mess. I cleaned it up as best I could and changed the oil. Like I said, it was a $200 bike. Lol!

Geez, I need to get the hang of photobucket. I thought it re-sized the pics smaller.... I'll have to work on that!

i got my first bike at the end of fall. Im taking the safety course and hopefully getting my licence this spring so ill be able to ride all summer long.

heres my bike:

its a 1993 seca II XJ600 with about 10k miles..its pretty quick for a first bike. I got a great deal on it and it just needed brakes and a tune-up..Probably tires next year

VMax' are nice bikes. Plenty of power with a more classic look and not the pocket rocket design, for those not into that. I like classic looking cruisers.

I agree. Mines a '93. I would guess its somewhere around 150 hp with the stage 2 jet kit, kn filters, and the supertrapps.

This is as close as I will let myself ride a motorcycle. I think I would enjoy it too much
