F/S F/T 1987 4Runner Turbo SR5 4x4, $4,000 Mission Viejo, CA
Price Reduced to $3,000
This is my 1st generation Toyota 4Runner with removable top. 264,000 (mostly highway) miles. I bought it earlier this year as a project truck. It is in great shape and definitely deserves many more miles on the road. Needs an engine overhaul. The previous owner had it sitting in his driveway since 2009. I bought it, cleaned it up, replaced the ECU, drained fuel/oil/coolant, and got it running again. Registered as planned non-operative since 2009. The title is brand new, in my name, and there are no fees due at all.
This truck has a 2.4 liter 22RTE engine (22RE-T, 22RE with turbo) and automatic transmission. It has 4WD with manual locking front hubs. The interior is well optioned out with front bucket seats, center console, electronic gauge cluster, turbo boost gauge, altimeter, inclinometer, rear heat, folding split 50/50 rear bench seat, roll bar, power rear window, flip down tailgate, and flip up moonroof.
It also has 16" wheels from a newer 4Runner. Turbo models also come from the factory with a larger 8" rear differential + thick driveshafts.
The good: California truck with no rust. Commuter vehicle that didn't see off road use. Original red paint still shines. All original glass. Transmission shifts great, 4WD works perfectly.
The bad: The head gasket is blown. The O2 sensor housing is cracked (bolts to turbo). Overall engine could use work. Despite the engine problems, the truck does run and drive.
I am a Toyota 4Runner lover, this is my third. I don't really want to sell it, but I can't afford to keep another project going.

I'm asking $3000 for this clean and rare 1st gen 4Runner turbo. My asking price is negotiable and I will consider reasonable offers. No lowballers please. Will consider trade for an 89-95 Toyota pickup 4 cylinder 5 speed, 2WD or 4WD.
PM me - Truck is currently located in Mission Viejo, CA.
Thank You.
Sorry, I uploaded lots of photos but Photobucket sucks, some of the photos will disappear for a few hours and then reappear later... my apologies. PM me if you want more photos

dang you!!!! sooooooooo tempting.... If I would have known better I would have swooped a runner to begin with but I wasn't in to yota's until I got the truck spent all kinds of loot on it and then I got this huge explicit deleted for a 1st gen runner. So now i'm like dangit I wish I got a runner and dumped the cash in that!! Anyway one day I will own one.
Again shes a beauty shouldnt have a problem selling it.

#1: Just because it's listed at $4000 doesn't mean it will sell for $4000. A high starting price is a good way to fend off the low balling idiots ($1500? LMAO.) I may have gotten it for a steal, that doesn't mean I have to sell it for less than I can get for it.
I'm in no hurry, if you don't like it, by all means, don't buy it. The right buyer will come.
Owe money on it? How dumb are you? Did you read the first line at all?
Think before you talk out of your ass. Please don't clutter up my sale thread.

1. Read the original post clearly and thoroughly before posting.
2. I did not appreciate your comments so of course you get a nasty reply.
3. I'm not interested in your "appraisal" of my vehicle.
4. I'm don't care to please a lowballing "potential" buyer such as yourself.
I'm a really nice guy. If you were serious about asking, I'd have been serious about replying.
