Oops... just realized after posting that this is a IFS thread. Can a mod move it to maybe the first gen section or another non IFS tire "what will fit" thread... if one exists.
1980 short bed 4x4. Stock suspension, stock steel 6" wide wheels. BFG 32x11.5 mud terrains. Sitting still everything clears lock to lock. I'll prob have to clearance the pinch weld but will do that after i figure out exactly where.
Headed back to get the other 3 mounted today.
I am new to the forum and I'd like to say that this forum is so awesome! I did a little research and found out that my 1994 Toyota pickup ext cab, auto, V6 is 6 lug with a configuration of 6 x 5.5 lug pattern and needless to say is in need of a tire/wheel upgrade. I found some 2007 FJ Cruiser stock 17 x 7.5 in wheels with used tires that are also 6 x 5.5 lug pattern with a medium offset and the tires are 265/70. I am not looking to go cray cray with my truck i just want something that is functional and yet provide an refreshed look.
Does anyone know if this wheel and tire size will fit without any modifications, will the tires be too big and rub on a stock suspension, perhaps consider smaller tires, what would be the biggest tire size before compromising the trucks performance, and or need to consider changing the drive??? Thanks in advance and any advice is greatly appreciated.
Currently running 225/75 R16 generic used tires on my 95 4runner 4x4.. I'm looking into the general gripper series AT tires, I'd like to go bigger and maybe wider but my ignorance on tire sizes leaves me at a loss.
I'd like to go up an inch or two, any recommendations to the size combo for 16in wheels that hold what I have on them now? Not sure how much I can size up on the current wheels. I'm not looking to replace them, just the tires..

I'm replacing the 32x12.5 x 15"with 31x10.5x15"s, Tire discounters said they are just a tad bigger than stock and shouldn't affect my GM little to any. I'm also running an 86 toyo with stock suspension that I plan on upgrading SOON, lol.

I was wondering what the largest tires I could have with both a three inch lift as well as a three inch lift plus two inch body lift could fit. My 4Runner currently has a three inch lift, but I am considering putting a two inch body lift, and aside from that everything is completely stock on it.

You can read the tech forum on tires and find out or just go where you buy tires and ask them, its up to you dude, thats the best answer I can give cause IDK what to tell ya dude
This is my 1990 Surf with 31x10.5x15 A/Ts. I want to put bigger M/Ts on it. From a glance at the ride height does anyone know if I could fit 33x12.5x15s on it? Or would i be better with 32x11.5x15. Any help much appreciated!

My 285/75/16 bfg all terrain ta ko2's are great fit perfect on my 88 yota with a 3 inch body lift doesn't rub at all. I ordered the tires off ebay and wasn't sure if they would fit and they're just right.
hey guys hope this hasn't been beat to death but I cant seem to find the answer, my 98 Tacoma has a 3" bilstien lift from toytec , i'm currently running 31x10.50x15 on stock rims no problem, I don't think I have room for 33x12.50 and 33x10.50's are like hens teeth, I bought a set of factory 17 " wheels from a newer Tacoma and was wondering if 285/70/17's would be rubbing the upper control arm, if I would need spacers, or if I should just go with 32/11.50x 15's and sell the 17's, thanks mick
ok guys i have a 94 toyota and i want 285/70r/17 on it but im not sure if i should do spacers. Also im not sure if a 17in wheel is the best. i would really like your guys thoughts on this.
Just providing some info for all you fellers who find the 16" or 17" FJ wheels appealing, as I do, and thusly wanted to mount some tires to it.
I roll a 94' 22RE 4x4, with a STOCK IFS FRONT END. (soon to be BJ spaced and OME T-Bar'd)... and I fit 265/75/R17 Bridgestone Dueler A/T's no problem, besides the occasional rub when 100% locked left/right cornering.
NOTE; I am using these as HIGHWAY tires, as I have 255/75/R17 BFG KM1's as my "Off Road" set.
NOTE 2: When I DID test these off-road, they rub. NOT SIGNIFICANTLY, nor on any vital components (tie-rods / sway-bar / etc.) but they do touch the inner plastic fender well and the lower mudflap... making full articulation 100% impossible.
NOTE 3: I am 100% sure that with BJ spacers (4crawler) and some T-Bars, I'll get 100% articulation back out of my Ol' IFS.

An aside:
I ran 31X10.5XR15's for 6 years, and really think they're the best tire for STOCK 22RE 4x4 trucks.
...since the tire carcass is lighter, and the wheel skinnier (especially on 15x6.5" Steel Toyota Rims), you can get some really fine trail lines out of the old truck without sacrificing much power. These 17" Rims, while nice and stately, are heavy and the extra width makes for slower acceleration on a stock 4.10 3rd member.
