Recipe in OverLand Journal

Hmmm, I know the contributor of that recipe

The recipe I submitted my mother found on her work desk at work back in the early 70s.

It is very very good.

Mmmm, I gave the recipe to Gail for her to whip up this week or maybe Thanksgiving (already?).

Nice (well deserved) kudos they gave you, too.

I have to say that when I camp, food is an afterthought. I'm limited with no fridge and ice only lasts a couple days in my old cooler, so it's usually fruit, crackers, chips and canned sardines. Maybe that's why Gail won't camp with me any more!

Ah man, you need to get fridged Bob.
Then you can take along some of the gourmet food you tease us here with that you make for dinner on the weekends.

No reason you could not pack that into an ARB/Engel fridge for a weekend of camping.

That recipe is very good if you follow it.
We use to have that at holiday time.

It is on the original card in my drawer that the person had dropped off on my mothers desk long ago.

I think next time I go grub shopping I am going to pick up the stuff to make it.
If we get a YotaTech campout organized for next summer I will have to bring it too.

Now here is a thought.
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f174...g-food-157097/

Something like this could be made up ahead of time, frozen just enough to get the saucy part solidified, then packaged into a few of the food saver bags.

Then either reheated in water on a camp stove, or thawed then baked again in a camping oven.

Should turn out good.
