Portable camp kitchens
Was doing a search and ran across this site from down under.
http://www.drifta.com.au/settingup.htm
The home page no longer seems to work, and a lot more links do not work either, but here are some more from the page.
http://www.drifta.com.au/product.htm
It can give you some ideas on how to build a setup or buy one similar to it.
My Cabela's Camp Kitchen arrived yesterday, will mess with it during the weekend to see how it sets up.
For those who car camp, what type of setups are you using?

Here is a good link for chuck boxes:

I have that same stand from Cabelas and I also use a Campmate Chuck box.

Hey, I actually was on that blueskykitchen site earlier today, found it with Google.
Called the Forest Service today too, and up where I want to go camping, it is buried under 4' or more of snow still.
We seemed to have had a record snowfall this year, and they say we might get some down lower before the week is over too.
I have the itch to get out here soon...

As seen above, I do have have that Cabelas kitchen setup with some plastic boxes that go in its rack to hold pots, silverware, and more.
However I still have an interest in the home made style "chuck boxes" as they call them.
There are quite a few over on Expos forum, and this one below really caught my eye, the guy just finished it up earlier this week.
I like the design so much since he uses the same Camp Chef Denali stove I have.
I showed the pics to a carpenter that is on my crew at work, and with about $100 into the materials the labor to construct this could approach $500, so around $600 total.
WOWSA
He is to swamped with side jobs at home though to build me one.
I may pursue this design by showing the pics to a cabinet shop, or I may look into this business I recently saw pop up in a thread over at Expo with a vendor that was at the Expo event in March.
http://www.kanzoutdoors.com/index.html
His personal one is made out of wood, but the ones he builds via his business are a combination wood/aluminum.
http://www.kanzoutdoors.com/field_kitchen.html
Base price is $599, around what it would cost to get the one built that is pictured above.
I may go this route, but probably camping season of 2011.
His design is pretty nice too.
Below is my Cabelas one.
It is OK, but it takes up a lot of room in the rig since the kitchen part folds flat and is stored in a big nylon bag, and the two plastic boxes the supplies are kept it.
The Kanz model is all one unit, it would take up a lot less space in the rig than my present setup.

I got the plans from Chad for the all wood box, and that is the one I am going with.
Just have to line up a competent carpenter.
The carpenter on my crew at work contacted another Boeing carpenter today, but that guy is swamped too with side jobs.
I will get someone lined up though to build this box.
Not sure what color to go with yet with paint, or maybe a nice stain.
