project bow tie

hello all, this is my first official post with you all thanks for all the info and responses in advance, been lurking around and playing on here quiet a bit i will be doing the gm 4.3 swap, wondering about problems and issues you may ave ran into during your swap, i'm opting for the 5 spd trans out of the donor truck with AA adaptor for yota t case, will be running electric fans, larger radiator and so forth, 4.3 is TBI motor, just got the motor pulled from donor, torn down and about to head to machine shop with all parts motor had 80k but best time to build it is the first time its out right? just working out the final details of install, and fab work needed will be using the harness and ecu from donor truck, only real addition will be manual gauge cluster for accurate dead nuts temp and oil pressure readings. just trying to forsee or get tips on any confrontations to come, any pictures or info from anyone who has done the swap helped do a swap or any info period would be great. i've seen a lot on the 4.3 swap and am unsure whether the body lifft is necessary or a preference thing? the runner will be getting a suspension lift after swap is completed possible SAS. will post pictures as we progress and any insight or pointers are always a good thing!

still trying to decide if i want to go TBI route or carb it and throw an HEI in,

90 runner org. 3.0 5spd sr5 on 32.50x11-15 nothing fancy yet but in process

Well the carb 4.3 will be much easier and alot less wiring, but My buddy tried doing the 4.3 Vortec swap. and he did not suceed as he had way to much money into and and no body could figure it out. he pulled the vortec motor out and traded it to a junkyard for another 22re... It is a dificult swap. But with the know how it can be done, I have not herd of the tbi 4.3 swap yet. but if it gets hard convert it to carb... thats my 2 cents

My friend did a tbi 4.3 swap. If you get stuck i can ask him a question for you.
With the tbi there's about 5 or so wires to hook up from to the computer. I did the cpi 4.3 / l460e swap . My 4runner has a 1 inch body lift on it but i dont think i really had to have it. My first mistake was mounting the motor and trany to far back and up . Then i realized i couldnt unbolt the transmission if i had to . So i had to cut all my mounts and reweld them 1 inch forward and down. All my stock gauges work great and i added a transmission temp gauge. I used a radiator from an old nova that works good. Of coarse i had to make mounts for it. If there's anyway i can help let me know.

re

i just need to get my duel t-cases bolted up and everything welded into place as far as mounts go, my next step was going to be wiring and plumbing the beast. it's a 1995 cpi outa a blazer, i have all the wiring from both trucks but what a nightmare lol. any info you could provide as far as getting the engine up and running would be very helpful as this is my first build.
