Saw you posted over in my build thread about the 4.7s and 4.88 combo. Thought I would check out your truck and holy cow you have got some skills. Your skidplate is beautiful, and of course all that work to squeeze that vette engine in there is just unbelievable.

Honestly, I haven't touched the truck all summer. Between my mother's home being lost in a wildfire and knee surgery, I've had little time for hobbies.
The radiator is a 2 core that I picked up from Griffin, if I recall correctly. It's a hold over from the 4.3 era. I really haven't put it to the test in low and slow, so am not being a whole lot of help right now.
I did score a Viair compressor for the lockers and finished the 3rd or 4th redo of the battery box, things I can do while hobbling around on one leg...

Thanks. Looking forward to pictures of your project. Been working on the air system and have made good progress. I tried every way possible to mount the York compressor, all to no avail. Plan B was an electric unit:
Air valve solenoids and pressure switch mounted on the forward trans cooler mount behind the cab and out of harm's way
The compressor does a good job of reaching cutout pressure. Ops check revealed a frozen solenoid valve, no big surprise considering how long this things been sitting.

More progress made, cold weather in the forecast makes for a good motivator.
Replaced the bad solenoid valve, ran the final electrical with switch installation.
Switch panels done.
I can see the light at the end this tunnel!

I finally have the interior going back together to the point of installing seats. With that passenger seat bolted in, I found insufficient clearance between the ECM and the bottom of the seat cushion. Something had to give, it would be a lot easier to relocate the ECM...
I found a good spot for it forward of the shifter console, problem being not enough room for it and the radio. Radio removed, ECM installed. I wanted to hide the wiring and also wanted to redo the whole shifter console and this was the time.
I've been using a generic B&M shifter that I cobbled together that's served the purpose, but I never lost the desire for a good gate shifter.
Art Carr had one that I liked but cannot find one today. Ultimately, I'd like to have one with a slide away gate between neutral and reverse for those times when you need to quickly change course in an attempt to initiate plan B. Working on that. In the meantime, I ditched all the old shifter mounting along with the original Toyota console and replaced them with a one piece unit fabbed from stock pulled from my pile of 2024-T3, with solid rivets. I kinda like that boiler plate look.
With that out of the way, I can figure out where to put the radio. I see another metal box being made and fit between the seats.. Gettin' there...

Thanks, Z
Long threads are kind of a pain sometimes, I get it. I'm not sure of the HP output, I read somewhere that it's in the 300 +/- range. I have no plans to go crazy with it, unlike a friend who just finished dropping an LS1 in his old Nova (that thing is SWEET). I'm running a 700R4 with a manual valve body, and the Toyota case, 4.70. I'm on the lookout for a D60/14B to round it out.
