Strike one: Nearest Importer said he is not importing till the USD increases. That stinks.
Waiting to here from a Virginia and New Jersey Importer.
Contacting dismantlers in Europe now.

1KD-FTV takes 7.5qts of oil, thought you'd all like to know.
In other news,
Monday i will visit a local shop about ordering a longblock, but i suspect it will be out of my price range, however, they have eluded the possibility of a slightly used 1KD. And they have one in their shop i can take measurements from.
Hopefully this is getting me one step closer.

I see these engines pop up now and than on the local marketplace, but they are rare. Especially including loom and ECU.
And you will definately need a complete set or you will not get it running. There have been several changes in wiring, ECU and injection system over the years so don't even think about it.
I have considered this swap before I did my 2JZ and have looked in to it. Two of my friends still drive LC's, with a 20-25 hp chip set (about € 800 for a unit). That's a plug and play affair, no need to cut wires or change anything.
Used LC's are widely available, just found this: http://link.marktplaats.nl/540435606
An older damaged one: http://link.marktplaats.nl/544754777
I'm sure they are cheaper in Germany, that's where I buy em mostly.
I can check for you if you're interested.

Found 213 landcruisers in a sec, but can't paste a link for the search results.
google for: mobile.de and you should get a german used car site.
In box: MARKE choose toyota
In box: MODELL choose Landcruiser
In box: PLZ fill in 52538
In box: UMKREIS choose 200km
Hit TREFFER ANZEIGEN and you'll get all the landcruisers (all models from 40's up to the new ones) for sale within 200km from my residence.
Good luck !

I could seriously waste days on this site.
I have sent a few emails out to some yards, just waiting for replies and direction. Not really any closer to getting this thing on a boat to my closest port yet, but still pursuing this fine greaser.

Subscribed... there is a shop near me that imports engines/halfcuts/vehicles from Japan.
I'll stop by them today and see if they have/can get/how much for you...

116.9 KW = 156.7 HP with Tuner Chip
Increase of 28.3 HP at rear wheels.
Torque numbers appear to be more or less flat across the band in stock tune at @225 Nm = 165.95 ft-lbs.
With the chip peak torque of @400 Nm = 295 ft-lbs appears at @ 85kms/hr (52.8 mph) and appears to drop off to a more or less flat @380 Nm = 280.3 ft-lbs average along the usable speed range up to 120 kms/hr (74.6 mph) from there it drops off steeply as you can see but remains above stock by a rough average of 80 Nm = 59 ft lbs. Pretty good numbers for a chip mod imo... I wonder what if any difference it made to the fuel consumption values.
Happy to help with the conversions
