Question Out To Build a 20RE Hybrid

Like it says, I am getting ready to build a 20RE motor. I am currently running a 20r-22r setup, but now I am out to inject it. I know it can be done, but my question is who has done it, or tried to do it. Now I know the intakes are different, but why cant i find any info on this. The motor Ive got built is great for me, but I have carb issues every now and then and its time to upgrade. So 85 pickup, 84 22r block, 20r head, 86 22re pickup for the electrical and tranny, and what it all comes down to is MAKING THE 22RE INTAKE MATCH THE 20R HEAD. Help? Ideas? Or just leave it alone?

The intake ports change from the 20R to 22R, meaning you have to make an adapter to fix it.
Nobody makes an adapter because the gains of going to EFI are negligible, and not many do this mod.

You can make diagram to be cut out with a CNC machine, and it might work, but idk. I would just leave it alone.

coins not the problem, its mating a 22re intake to a 20r head thats turning out to be the harder part. But with the help of my brother and his shops CNC we are going to make something happen, and hopefully sooner than later.

i bougth a truck with a 20r block and 22re head on it that the previous owner had machined up, it knocked when i bought it so i just scrapped it and put a full on 22re in it.

I know t can be done but dont know how they did it.

I think propane would do a LOT better than EFI if you're wanting to make a wheeling rig.
Constant pressure through the carb, clean burning, and if you put it on propane from the start of the engine till the end, it would probably last a hell of a lot longer than any EFI rig would.

I've heard stories of rigs that are run on propane that last for 500k miles before even needing a rebuild...
And i'm talking oldschool dodge power-rams and 80's chevy pickups.

Apparently the oil looks as new as when it went in after each oil change.

the reason for the clean oil is that propane has no additives, doesn't leave carbon buildup and wont gum up an engine. And its a DD with the idea I can go anywhere I want and be able to get there. So your probably right on the propane kit, but a 20-22re isnt that popular and there are not too many write ups or builds like that. And if I do it and make it easier for someone else to do it with a build up, then thats what I'm out to do.
