I have a 87 4wd Toyota pickup. It currently has the stock 4 cyl fuel injected motor and trans. I would like to swap in a bigger motor with fuel injection. I have done some research but would like some input from people.

I am looking for a swap that is not way to difficult as far as things needing to be fabricated. I am also curious as to a rough cost of the whole project. I have read some articles on the 350 swap and the 3.4 v6 and a few others. Which is better? I do not need a ton of power. I am running a 4 inch lift with 33x12.5s. The truck will serve as an offoad hunting truck that I will also need to drive on the freeway with. It has a flatbed on also. Cab is solid.

Whats the best swap...V6?V8?
What transmission/trans case?
Rough cost?
Which thread have people found to be the most helpful?
Is there an overal swap kit? (engine mounts?Tranny mounts etc?)
